Product Description

Bothered by water spots on your windshield, dangerous road film, or silicone buildup on your auto glass? Are your household windows stained and spotted from sprinklers? Spot-X Hard Water Stain & Spot Remover cleans stubborn stains from your vehicle or home glass. Whether the water stains are caused by acid rain, salt water, road grime, sprinklers or well water, Spot X Glass cleaner will work, we guarantee it. While SpotX cannot be used on auto paint, it will not harm the paint if it gets on it. Simply rinse off with water. Household windows are just as easy. Fantastic for shower doors! Can remove years of built up soap scum. Use on porcelain, ceramic tile. Remove hard water stain rings in toilets, light rust on porcelain sinks and tubs. Spot-X has protective qualities and once used the water will sheet off instead of beading off which causes water spots. Use again once sheeting stops or water spots begin to appear again. Please note it is very important to use the non-scratch pad that comes with the Spot-X. All OTHER pads have a grit in the glue that binds the fibers and will scratch glass. Our pads were specifically made for this product. Spot-X CANNOT scratch glass. It is just below glass on the Moh's Hardness Scale.

I bought this and followed directions with pretty good results on one side of car with HEAVY glass stains. It was difficult for me to get the hang of getting the powder/water mixture just right...after a time I caught on but was still leery of using an abrasive pad on my windows. As I was using it I remarked at how similar the product was to BarKeepers Friend, which we use to clean our glass cooktop. After consulting the BarKeeps Friend website, I discovered that Bar Keepers Friend could be used on glass with no scrub pad needed. So, I got out our can, got a cloth nice and damp, sprinkled a little Bar Keepers on it, and proceeded to clean the windows on other side of the vehicle using alot less product resulting in less mess and effort. Again, Spot X worked OK but BarKeepers Friend was easier to use and is less than $5 (at grocery stores) for a 12 ounce can.

In one word, this product is AWESOME. I, too, was skeptical. We built our dream house the summer of 2005. In the master bath, I have a 8' X 8' shower that has two sides that are seamless glass. I tried from the very beginning to keep the glass spot free of hard water stains. I had used straight vinegar, Lime Away, CLR, etc. Nothing seemed to work. The vinegar worked somewhat but it would not remove the really deep hard water stains. I searched the web and bought a product that was guaranteed to work. Well, guess what? It didn't! I thought I would search Amazon.com and see what they would have. Well, all I can say is that this product worked beyond expectation. It took me less than an hour to have my shower looking brand new again. I'm going to buy a case of this stuff just to keep it on hand. My fear is that the manufacturer will quit making it. Buy it - you won't be disappointed!

I tried nearly everything trying to get off water spots from my '99 Trans Am's windows. Nothing worked. 0000 Steel wool, water/vinegar, polish, newspapers... you name it I tried it. I managed to clear up some spots but only after scrubbing it with steel wool for 20 min. Saw this had pretty good reviews so decided to try to fix this myself one last time before sending it off to a professional detailer.

Inside the shipping box, was a zip lock bag containing 2 application pads, instructions and the bottle containing the pixie dust. Followed the instructions and mixed the powder until it turned into a thick paste. Scrubbed the corner of my windshield where water spots were most noticeable for about 10 minutes. Then I grabbed a microfiber towel and started to buff it off. I was shocked when I buffed everything off and I saw...nothing. I kept changing my angle thinking the light was getting the better of me, but no matter what I did the glass was crystal clear. Fast forward 1 hour and I finished cleaning my windshield, windows, hatch and both T-Tops. My 15 year old windows look like they just came from the factory.

All I can say is this stuff works, IF YOU MIX THE CONTENTS CORRECTLY. Add too much water and this doesn't do a thing. Other that than I can't say much more. This stuff works.

We just moved to a new home in an area with VERY. HARD. WATER. Not the 'Bar Keeper's Friend' kind of water, or the 'Use Straight Vinegar!'kind of water, or the Soft Scrub, Lime Away, CLR, dryer sheets (?!), Bon Ami kind of water. I tried ALL of these methods before shelling out money for Spot-X. Well, I could have saved myself a lot of time, money and FRUSTRATION, had I just purchased this in the first place. (plus no fumes!)

This is a powder substance you mix with water to form a paste and it comes with two non-scratching pads. I tested it (with FIRM elbow grease) and found the hard water scale greatly diminished after one application. Of course I wanted the shower door "squeaky" clean, so I applied Spot-X once, then rinsed and applied it again. Now my shower door is CLEAR! This stuff WORKS. I also used it on the lime stains on our stainless steel sink. I'll keep this to "touch up" when needed. Right now I Rain-X'ed the shower door, so the water is beading off and applied a stainless steel polish to the sink, so it is doing the same thing.

All I can say to all the people who said not to waste your money and that other lesser methods (like straight vinegar) worked is: your water is not as hard as mine and was not as built up over time. The previous owner of this house was here for four years and never got the shower door clean. I think they just gave up. We were seriously considering getting a new shower door because it was such an eyesore every morning, but I am so glad we tried Spot-X.

If this stuff does not work for you then you will need an industrial drill, buffer and some stronger stuff, but try this, it might save you the hassle.

Finally. Something that works.

Ok, I never write reviews but in this case I have to write one. My windows had spots that neither vinegar/water, windex, nor spot removal from Wal-Mart, Target, and Home Depot could eliminate. After reading the reviews on this site, I skeptically shelled out my $15 to get Spot-X. Even upon its arrival, I was doubtful that this powder would work. Well, I put some on a sponge, wetted it and started rubbing onto the glass. Less than 10 minutes later, all my windows were spot free. I'm telling you, don't waste anymore time using anything else; this stuff really works!
