Top Customer Reviews
I've tried many different showerheads in the $1 to $30 price range and they've all either sucked, fallen apart after a few uses or got clogged up by hard water deposits in a month or two. There are several nice ones in the $80 and above range that I've tried at hotels and such, but that's more than I had wanted to spend for a showerhead. And I really HATE the ones that extend overhead and act as rain, it tickles my skin, especially my face, in a most uncomfortable way! I had finally found a showerhead that I liked at a local 99 Cents Only store, it was multi-function (ie- massage, etc), but I only ever left it in my favorite spray position. But I lost it when I moved (though I'm sure I packed it!). I made do with the one that was at my new place (it was a nice $80 one), but it finally failed.
So in searching for a replacement I stumbled on this one. It's a basic design, lo-flo (though I couldn't give a rat's patutee about that) and more importantly - cheap! The photo uploaded to the product page showed what has to be the perfect flow of water and the rubber nozzle design means no hard water clogging. So I got one and installed it.
I'm in heaven! Why couldn't this have come out years ago?? It delivered on all the promises, both explicit and implicit. It's my new favorite showerhead and I'm buying a spare!
Dec 2, 2011 - quick update. I'm still in heaven!! The hard water here has clogged a few of the lower spouts but a quick brush of my finger cleared them right up, so I'm getting the full flow the head is capable of. And I wish I had gone to a flow controlled head earlier! Now I can crank both the hot and the cold and mix to the perfect temperature without affecting the force of the flow. If everything in life delivered on their promises this well... sigh...
April 25, 2012 - another update, showerhead still working as good as the day it was installed. Have to occasionally rub my finger over the rubber nozzles to clear ones blocked by the hard water we have here, but then it's as good as new! With other showerheads the bottommost nozzles would be useless by now. And I can't get enough of having the flow control in the showerhead allowing me to set the perfect temperature without having to screw with the stream. Definitely a best buy! I picked up a spare a few months ago, but this one still looks and acts as if it's brand new, but better safe than sorry...
Oct 22, 2015 - still going strong and all nozzles are still working (with the occasional rub)!
I found this shower head and thought I would give it a try. Here is what I liked:
1. A straight forward shower with no adjustments that provides a decent amount of water and that feels good.
2. Enough water flow to rinse away shampoo and soap without feeling like you are waiting for Spring.
3. Easy to install, they even included Teflon tape to prevent leaks.
4. Easy to clean, just wipe you fingers across the shower head to get rid of any build-up.
5. VERY inexpensive!
6. Still only uses 2 GPM of water flow.
What I did not like:
Actually, there is not anything about this unit that I disliked. It is small, looks good, works as advertised, and inexpensive. What more can I say?
I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a straight forward low flow shower head.
- It is well designed, functional product
- Super easy to install (I replaced my old shower head with this one in less than 15 min)
- Doesn't drip
- No tools required for installation (keep in mind you might need tool to remove the old shower head)
- Doesn't look fancy
My favorite part about this showerhead is how the spray is perfectly even and sufficiently full-bodied. Most modern showerheads have a choice of 2 sprays--an o-shaped ring pattern around the outside (with no coverage on the inside), or a thin "massage" setting on the inside (that feels like you're being ground into a fine powder of dead skin). Or worse yet, the dribbling experience of both at once. Frankly, those designs do a pretty terrible job of getting you wet. This one penetrates my thick hair down to the scalp without making me feel like I'm being stung by thousands of angry hornets or being pelted by an elephant hose. It's not adjustable because it doesn't need to be. It won't make you a better person or make your morning coffee. But it will get you clean! No muss, no fuss, no ifs, ands, or buts. I will say this: if you can afford to spend $100+ on the same showerheads used in 5-star hotels (or don't mind breaking an unenforced federal law), you can do better. But if you're a budget-minded low-frills kinda guy (or gal) who just wants to get clean, this showerhead does the trick better than any other I've encountered.
In conclusion, if you're looking at this showerhead and still hovering on the fence, buy it! You won't regret it. For only $5, this little guy provides a VERY decent shower (at very reasonable prices!). With this showerhead, I replaced a $30 Delta handheld unit that made me feel like I was being watered under a trickle of pond scum. This one is at least a million times better than my old one. Although, considering I would rather shower in my kitchen sink than under my old Delta, that's not saying much.
