My LO is a spring baby so we started this series with Autumn when she was about 18 months old. I am happy to say Spring is as good as Autumn. Love the no words. It allows so much to talk about and the illustrations are very detailed, we find new things every time we read. Have not read this Spring to LO yet as I am waiting for March to arrive but I can tell it will be a hit. Lots of pretty flowers, baby animals, Easter eggs. Only downside is I wish it had the same characters as Winter and Autumn but perhaps I will just refer to the little girl in this book as the cousin of the main characters in the others. Same illustrator though so it "matches" ( for lack of a better term). As a side note I did not like Winter quite as well but I think that is because it did not include a lot of winter things we do around here such as skiing, snowshoe, cross county skiing, and hiking in the rain.
Also for a Seasons book we love I Am a Bunny. That and this series will not be given away when LO "outgrows" them because I never will!

My son is being raised trilingual (my husband and I speak different native languages, in addition to English). One of my biggest problems was reading books to my son - most books that he has are in English. I often would have to switch languages on him, when he'd bring me a book to read. These books, however, have no text, and the situations that they describe are universal - hence, perfect for multilingual kids. I can talk about the scenes in whatever language I am talking to the child at the time, and am also able to present the same set of words in different languages.

The pictures are very detailed and realistic. There's also a nice progression in each season depicted. For e.g, spring starts with a girl playing with a lamb in a meadow, and then on to planting flowers, arranging tulips, family time indoors and outdoors, Easter preparations, etc.

This book (along with the other seasons by Gerda Muller) is full of beautiful pictures with lots of details. There are no words, and it is up to you, or your child to "read" the story. Thus it's a new story every time we read it together. It's also very nice to hear my daughter (now 20 months) pointing out things and "reading" the story to me. As an educator, I know this stimulates creativity and her imagination without the limitation of words and someone else's story.

My son adores the Gerda Muller season books! We started with the Autumn and Winter books last year when he was 9mos and then 12mos old. We got the spring book just as he's turned 15mos and it's quickly become a favorite just like the others. As other reviews has stated there are no words in these books, only scenes of children enjoying different aspect of the changing seasons. This is ideal for our family since I get tired of reading the same stories over and over (and over...ugh). The Spring book only features one little girl and her family in the country as opposed to several kiddos but I actually like that. We make up lots of stories about her and pick a new name sometimes. We talk about the nursing lambs and brand new baby chicks. It's a sweet book and it sees a lot of action in our home!'
