This is not Ceylon Cinnamon. It is "Cinnamomum cassia" which is a different species of cinnamon than what you think of as cinnamon bark. This product is not the diabetes fighting cinnamon.

Turns out, not all cinnamon is the same. I've been taking this product on and off for several months and have just realized that it maybe bad for my liver. It's cinnamon, and it does contain the number of capsules provided, but it may not be entirely safe. Some people, not everyone, but some people have extremely bad reactions to a compound that is barely detectable in Ceylon cinnamon, but very present in cassia cinnamon. I can't figure out how to tell if I am one of those people, but I don't want to damage my liver trying to fix my insulin levels. I like this producer of supplements, but I wish they would sell a product containing ceylon cinnamon, so we don't have to worry that we might be one of the unlucky few that are badly affected.

cinnamon extracts in general have beneficial effects on lipids and blood sugar. I used to take a product called Glycobol for natural Glucose disposal Agent buts its expensive so I started looking around for alternatives I found this at Walmart. I opted for 2000mg plus chromium and I am glad I did they are big pills and yes if you don't take enough food with them you will burp some. But my blood sugar went from 182 to 107 the first day on the second day I got a super hard erection that kept coming back. If you interested in Natural diabetes treatment Cinnamon, Standardized Oregano Extract, Bergamot Extract, Pomegranate Extract, Rutin Extract with Flavonoids is a good place to start!!!! Also I here good things about Hibiscus and Rooibos extract, Caraway Seed Extract, Black Cumin Seed especially Caraway and Black Cumin

Ive been taking (4) 500 mg caps/day for about 3 months now with no discernible affect on my blood glucose. Disappointing. BTW the 1000MG advertised on the front of the bottle describes the (2) capsule dose. The actual tablets are 500MG each.

This cinnamon is not the same as other brands. Had to return my half used bottle for a refund. Sugars were high taking this brand. If started using another brand and my sugars have dropped drastically. What a releif

We keep coming back to Puritan's Pride. Thought we would give these a try, though. Ended up having to take more because they were not as effective for us.

I usually buy my cinnamon pills from Sam's Club but they recently went way up in price, and way down in # of pills per bottle. So after much searching, I found this two pack which is much more comparable to what I was getting before, in terms of price and amount. I'm glad I found these, and after reading the bottle I see they are a Wal-Mart product, so I plan to check them out in the store sometime, and compare the prices.
(Also, my SO takes fish oil pills and prefers to take them with a cinnamon pill to help with the taste.)
