This game is far from perfect, however it provides the best available video game dirt track action for race fans. Until someone makes a game with dirt late models, sprint cars, and modifieds for PS3/360, this is the game to get.

This product works, so it was a pretty good deal to me. The game itself has tons of features and is surprisingly challenging...like guitar hero dragonforce challenging at its toughest. I recommend it to any racer who wants to train their thumbs.

The Game itself has some very good ideas : i.e. An expanded career that enables you to move up from stocks to sprints, and manage a team of drivers. There are also several real race tracks on it, and even some more that have fake names but are pretty much real life tracks ie Terre Haute and Lernerville. they are basically the same tracks that are in Saturday Night Speedway. Also, the cars can be a handful and that is a good thing, because it is more realistic. You have to work hard to be consistent and not just go full throttle every lap.

But, there are some critical issues with it:
1. Jumpy gameplay, other cars crash too much.
2. The career mode is too easy to get fast time at every track
3. hardly any yellows so when a car crashes it often causes a huge pileup
4. sound/graphics are terrible, every car sounds like a lawn mower

Overall, it could have been a fun game but several issues with the basic gameplay limit it considerably. But there are many tracks on it and they are all unique and offer different challenges. If you pay any more than $10 for this game, you're getting robbed out of your money.

Always been a huge fan of this genre of game and most reviewers do not give the dirt track the respect it deserves. Unfortunately, Sprintcar2 Showdown at Eldora deserves every bad review it gets. I will not get into too many specifics as to why this game should never have been released but here's what SAE offers.
-The same tracks as Sprintcar Road to Knoxville
-The same models and paint schemes for the Modifieds, Midgets and Sprintcars as RTK
-Three new classes Prostock, Latemodel and Wingless Sprintcar (all with paint schemes that look like they took as long to name as they did to complete.
-A Tractor pull mini game (Don't laugh, it's the best thing you will get for your $19.96!)

Sounds like Big Ant just added to an OK game and no harm right? Wrong! What was smooth, fast racing in RTK is now so jittery with a frame rate flucuating like my waistline during the holidays that it completely unplayable even with everything (including all sound turned off.) Also, don't bother starting a career, I had a driver win every race in a series and still finish 6th and under a different name.
If you are even considering purchasing this game please consider games such as Saturday Night Speedway, World of Outlaw 2002, NASCAR Dirt to Daytona and yes even Sprintcar Road to Knoxville.

I was a big fan of the World of Outlaws PS2 game that came out in 2002 and Road to Knoxville when that came out in 2006. This version really has a lot more to do. They've added late models, pro stock and wingless sprints. The new challenge mode is fun and the tractor pull, while pretty simple, is cool because you can post your pulls to their website. I'd like to see this game on the Xbox 360 someday!!!

The game is really not that good. AI is poor and there are just so many errors. Sprint Cars 2002 is by far a better game.
