5.0 out of 5 stars Could be better if....
By Hoppy Burpday on September 28, 2018
I like the way it looks and color, so I bought 5 of them to try out. I soak, germinate and grow all in one unit. When changing water, I lift the white basket and move it to another green container (spare). I can grow Asian water basil (kangkung), mung bean sprout with no medium at all. I had to use a burlap pad to grow microgreens since the whole of the basket is larger.
Wishlist.
1. To the manufacturer, please makes a smaller hole (white basket) version so that grower can switch between sizes.
2. Please make a bigger size of the whole thing, such as 10x20 or wider so that grower has more yield but only need to maintain one tray vs. several trays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for medium to large seeds
By Caroline on October 13, 2018
This tray is perfect for medium to large seeds. I've been growing many batches of Pea Sprouting seeds in it for the past year. Beware not to put too many seeds to soak as they will expand and then the seeds won't have enough space for the roots to find their way through the holes to reach the water in the bottom tray. My recommendation is to put about 70% of the surface of the green tray of dry seeds to soak in water for two-three days until you see the sprouts emerging, then lay the seeds in one flat layer on the white tray with the holes. Spray the seeds on top for the first few days to keep them moist while their roots will find their way through the holes (you might have to guide a few if your seeds are tight). Keep the lid of during the day and on at night to keep moisture. Once the seeds have a stem and a few leaves you can keep the lid off and make sure to keep some water in the bottom tray. It takes about 2 weeks for me to have a batch ready to use in a salad or as a garnish for a sandwich. Well worth the effort and a lot of fun !

1.0 out of 5 stars MOLD
By C Savid on October 19, 2019
Too much mold. I can rinse and change the water 2-4 times a day and still get mold. Mostly happens overnight. You would think it would be easier to grow hydroponically but it isn't. The mold isn't safe and the effort required to remove the mold daily is not worth it. Just use soil.
