Kady Parks is a second-grade schoolteacher in Philadelphia. She and her sister, Bethany, lost their parents a few years before in an automobile accident. If was after their death, finding her birth certificate that she will discover that the man who raised her had adopted her after her Mom married him. And that Aiden Steele was listed as her biological father, a man she had never heard of.
The plot will have Kady coming to Montana after a private investigator and attorney for that late Aiden Steele track her down. She will also learn over the course of several phone conversations that she has four other half-sisters by Steele.
Meeting her at the airport in Billings will be Cord Connolly, PI and Riley Townsend, attorney. Both men know immediately that they are going to claim her. There is an instant connection between the three, but Kady will be overwhelmed by their dominance and control and try and fight it. These men don’t back down from what they want, and that is Kady, and she will willingly acquiesce before the night is out.
“I was wanton, wild and completely out of my norm. It was heaven.”
The story will take on some life and death when the ranch house is broke in to, but Kady keeps her head on and calls for help and her men. The tale has the mystery of who, what, why, when and where of the break-in that will be revealed in due time. Cord and Riley won’t let her stay at the ranch and will take her into town to their place. The mystery will unfold, and during the threat, so will the relationship between these three, as it will escalate and feelings will be shared.
“I wouldn’t have called it love at first sight. No, that was too cliché. It was a connection, a bond, that went soul deep with them. Only groans and gasps, sighs and cries of pleasure were left. I did come. I couldn’t do anything else, caught between my men. Protected—sheltered—loved—pleasured.”
The story has several sizzling hot, intense and explicit sex scenes between Kady, Cord, and Riley that will include voyeurism, and ménage. I look forward to more stories in this series. As always, there is a great cast of characters, plenty of interaction, the element of danger, and the happily ever after ending we all love to see.
She's found out she has a biological father she never knew and she's inherited a ranch she nows nothing about.
Riley is the attorney that's over the estate and Cord, his best friend is the investigator that found Kady.
Cord fell in love when he saw Kady's picture as did Riley.
Go along with these three as they find love together and come closer while trying to figure out their new life.
LOVED the book, Vanessa Vale is a great writer that brings the story to you so well, from the first page I was stuck and couldn't put it down. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and you get to enjoy her other works as well. She's never let me down and her Bridgewater series was Wonderful!! 5 stars All the way.💖
Vanessa Vale does a good job of describing Montana and making the situation sound reasonable and sane. She made me laugh and squirm!

There is a fine line between humour and sexist. This is right on that line at points, at other times it just is sexist at least for me. Although it is at least self-aware. Cord at a point refers to himself as a neanderthal, that is accurate. The two men claim her before they even meet her. I really would love to know would have happened if Kady had tried to leave them. It was never going to happen but still those boys were never going to let her go.
I really struggled with the characters. Cord and Riley are a lot, all dirty talk, thinking with their dick more than their heads and possession. Kady is resilient, but I do like that she gives as good as she gets. The smut is the focus, the plot is secondary. I really didn't like the sex either. It's one step off violent. The story such as it moves quickly from the start to the end of the story is 3 days.
There were some questionable character actions and author decisions. The writing wasn't fantastic, I saw quite a few editing errors. It feels lazy as well, leaning heavily on the cowboy imagery, type. If you view the characters as having free will I just think something wasn't right. There was some major contradiction in acceptance in the visual community and what is said by characters.
The basic premise of the series is that an old, single but womanising rancher has died, and his will reveals he had 5 daughters across the country that he wants to inherit his ranch in equal shares. Kady is the first daughter found and invited out to the ranch by the legal and security team to claim and view her inheritance.
Usually I'm not a fan of insta-love outside of supernatural themed books where there is something magical associated with that connection, but this one worked. If you can look past the behaviour of the guys, Riley and Cole, before they even met Kady (as in they saw her photo, read what a PI dug up on her and decided she was going to be theirs) then it wasn't a bad read. That Alpha behaviour doesn't always work though, so lucky Kady was the right girl for them, felt the connectipn and attraction too and 2as happy to go along with it. I did lose track of the timeline a bit, but it honestly seemed like less than a week and they were engaged and talking babies? Very fast, but as the three of then said (in so many words), when you know you've found the one, life is too short to wait around.
I did like the bit of a mystery thrown in, but it was very light and resolved quickly.
I'm intrigued by what the rest of the sisters are like, and look forward to more in the series.
