It does show its cheapness mainly in one way: although the description says "gently touch the screen" to activate it, it generally doesn't respond to light touches. Often I have to press fairly hard or use a larger portion of my finger than just the tip. This isn't too bad though, I've just gotten used to tapping it with a larger portion of my finger instead of my fingertip, it works every time and is just as quick of a movement.
Also, I don't know why it says "Comes with free keychain bottle opener", because it didn't. The watch was the only thing in the package. But overall, this was better than I expected for a measly $10! I would buy again.
1) Tap the watch to bring up the time.
2) Tap it 8 times, holding it for a few seconds on the last tap
3) The "Hour" LED will blink faster, this means you are ready to set the hour. Tap it until you are on the right hour, then let it go out.
4) Repeat steps 1) and 2). Once the Hour LED is blinking fast again, Hold it again and your "minutes" LEDS should also blink. Tap until you are on the right minute (if you go past, you'll have to tap around the whole dial!) Let it go out.
5) Tap again and it should read the right time.
Just got my watch about 2 hours ago. The watch isn't bad quality for the price, but it came with a nice gouge in it. E-mailed the seller to see about a replacement, but man was I glad I found in the instructions for it.

I am still really liking this watch and it's the only one I've been wearing for awhile now. I get a ton of compliments from people when they first see it and they are amazed at the cost because it looks like it should cost a lot more. I then point out the part that looks like a brain, and then they think it's even better. Then when I make it light up, that doesn't really get to them because that's kind of a techie thing, but I like it. The funnest part is the story about how to set it because the instructions that come with this thing are horrendous.
I haven't had any problems with the band coming apart or falling off the watch, so it goes to show that not all things can be made equally. I dared wear the watch in the shower and haven't had any problems because of it. I figured with $15 including shipping I had nothing to lose -- I would just buy another one if the water ruined it, but it's still working just fine. The funny part about that is, is that the water activates it sometimes so be ready for that.
I highly recommend getting this watch. It looks elegant, the design on the face is really cool, and you're bound to get compliments. I even raised the star review from 3 to 4 because I've enjoyed this watch so much.
Hope this helps!
Every time you turn the watch on, it does a little light dance for you, and it has about 8 different "dances" it does before showing you the time. It's awesome!
I gave the review 5 stars because this watch is cool, and is nicer than the Kisai watches from Tokyo that work the same way and don't look anywhere close to as nice as this one. Did I mention those watches cost $100-200?
However, the strap is messed up. You can put the watch on with the strap, but its a pain in the butt. Also, the strap sometimes decides to undo itself and the watch falls off of your wrist! MAGIC! I almost lost this thing in a field, but the luck of the irish brought it back to me (I'm not irish). I plan to go to the watch store soon and replace the otherwise excellent strap.
Sometimes, I feel the touchscreen is too sensitive. Then, when I actually want to see the time and press the screen, I feel it isn't sensitive enough. In the end, I think they worked the sensitivity perfectly, not too easy to turn on, but not too hard either.
BUY THIS WATCH, it's incredible. Then go and replace the strap before you start wearing it. And don't expect a keychain.
The touch screen is not capacitive (similar to current generation tablets), but resistive. You will need to depress the screen slightly (with a significant part of your finger) in order for it to respond properly. Setting the time using this method was also a snap using a previous reviewer's post and not utilizing the included manual which was quite possibly written in an ancient dialect of Klingon.
Finally, do not expect anything free, regardless of what the title states. The small price I paid is well worth the conversations I will have with my college students over this unique piece.

Programming this watch is actually easy, touch to display time and hold for a few seconds until white hour LED flashes alone.Read more
