The Spy Bride is a fast read, leaving you wanting more. Just don't miss this one. It is a fine read. Oh, and until the next Bayard & Holmes thriller is available, you can always find thoughtful and informative posts on their blog, Bayard & Holmes.
Days before her wedding, Sonia Perez is on the verge of breaking the news to her fiance about her status as a spook when all hell breaks loose and national security is at risk. A surprise addition to her usual team of associates is her mother, who has more up her sleeve than a dry hankie and maternal wedding-night advice. If Sonia can make it to her own wedding in one piece, that is.
THE SPY BRIDE is a fun, suspenseful read. The characters are drawn with depth and humor, the setting details are vivid and faithfully drawn, and the satisfying plot twists will keep you reading well into the night. I highly recommend it!
There's nothing like a body, a suspicious package and brewing national security crisis to derail your wedding plans, especially when your fiance doesn't know you're a spy. 12 days before her wedding, Sonia Perez finds herself wrapped up in a dangerous mission that will take her into the territory of one of the world's most dangerous criminals.
If you like action, humor, a dash of romance and some heavy, thought provoking content all held together with a thread of hope, you'll likely love Spy Bride. I enjoyed the main character, Sonia Perez, and her funny, bada*s mom, Kathleen. I'd love to see more of Sonia and Kathleen in future novels.
Not only is this story accurate and lets all pause to be grateful for a spy novel with no shoulder shots and they just keep going .... so much happy .... but they way the characters work together, the time it takes, the reactions to injuries! It's just so good.
And the characters, I hope Bayard & Holmes write more in this world, because i loved their character SO much!!!
