Engineered for Outdoor Function, No Matter the Temperature or Elements
Designated with a IP66 rating by the International Electrotechnical Commission, the Aeon OT is engineered to resist a high degree of water, dust, and force. The IP rating, short for International Protection Marking, is published by the IEC and provides an independent benchmark for the resistance of electronics to various intrusive elements, like dust, physical contact, and water. Built to withstand adverse elements and contact, the Aeon OT is anchored by a sturdy steel mount, and housed in a metal, military-grade casing. Underneath it’s waterproof, contact-resistant casing, the Aeon OT shares many of the same, powerful features as other cameras in the Aeon line, but is designed specifically for outdoor use.
Detailed 1080p HD Video for Facial Recognition up to 45 Feet Away
The challenges of outdoor surveillance demand a degree of camera durability and video quality that most surveillance systems simply can’t meet. Not only does an outdoor camera need to function in the harshest elements, it also needs to record clear footage from farther away than most other cameras are equipped for. The Aeon OT captures audio and video in clear 1080p at 30FPS, a degree of clarity distinct enough to provide facial recognition, and make out individual licence plates, up to 45 feet away. Footage is also filmed in widescreen format and will fully display on widescreen monitors and TVs without cropped borders. If you need to record outdoors, be it the backyard approach to your house, the alleyway behind your business, or anywhere else you can think to place it, the Aeon OT gives you a combination of durability, picture quality, and features that it is impossible to find anywhere else.
Infrared Cut Filters for Night Recording up to 30 Feet Away
Protecting your home or business is a round-the-clock job, demanding a camera that can function as effectively at night as it does during the day. The Aeon OT does just that, with 12 built-in infrared illuminators that monitor up to 30 feet away without sacrificing video quality.
View Live Footage Remotely On Your PC, Mac, Smartphone, or Tablet
Using a free, remote viewing app, you can access live footage from your Aeon OT camera on your PC or Mac computer, and Apple or Android phone or tablet. A live feed from your camera means that no matter where you are, you can keep an eye on the people that matter to you most.
POE Capable - Use Ethernet for Both Power and Internet Connectivity
POE connectivity lets you run both internet and power to the Aeon OT through a simple ethernet cable. If running an ethernet cable is too inconvenient, you can connect the camera to IEEE802.11b/g/n wireless networks via it’s powerful 6dB antenna.
Motion Detection with Email Alerts or Push Notifications Featuring Still Shots
Featuring built-in motion detectors, the Aeon OT is capable of sensing movement and sending you an email or push notification with still shots of the person or event that triggered the detection. You can also configure the alert to be sent to any number of email addresses or uploaded to a FTP server.
Network up to 32 Cameras Together for up to 16 Simultaneous Viewers
You can network up to 32 Aeon cameras together, letting you simultaneously record or view footage from as many cameras as you can handle. You can also share camera access with up to 16 simultaneous users, keeping in mind that with more live viewers, the slower footage will relay.
Record Footage on up to a 128GB MicroSD Card, NAS, or Any Viewing Computer
When storing footage, you can record onto the Aeon OT (with up to a 128GB MicroSD Card), make use of a NAS (a network attached storage device that allows you to store and share large amounts of data network-wide), or save footage directly onto any viewing computer.

Top Customer Reviews
The nit-picky cons are as follows:
1. As should be expected, you must use a fast SD card or the video will stutter... so I got the best.. but here's the main rub, if that SD card gets too many files on it (the max is 10,000) and the camera reboots the SD card goes into a state of perpetual failure. All 4 of my cameras have this problem. The trick is to pull out the sd card, put it in the computer, copy whatever video you need, and then reformat. The card remains fine, but I think the silly camera simply gets stuck trying to identify the card when it's full of files.
2. The "copy to ftp server" function is disappointing in that it cannot be scheduled to copy all of the files during off hours. Instead the schedule dictates when the files (from that time) are copied. In other words, if you schedule it to copy between 1AM and 2AM then it will only copy video captured between those hours. Not all of the files. If you hoped to use FTP as longer term storage and the SD for short term, you'll need to FTP all day & potentially disrupt your bandwidth all day, because of this limitation.
3. They should include a fish-eye option. The lens seems to screw off so it would be pretty neat to have some options for a wider angle. The angle seems just a bit limiting IMO.
Like I said, these are nit-picky. It's really great to be able to set this thing up on any wifi network and have it just work. With some firmware tweaks (like the FTP job & SD card issues) and possibly a tiny little lens option, this would be the master of the IP camera universe IMO.
I also have one of the outdoor ones, but did have trouble with the first one resetting itself. For those that wonder where the SD card goes, you have to unscrew the front of the "bullet". For those bashing Spy-Tec, so far I've found them quite responsive so long as you're willing to wait on hold a bit. Both issues I've had (once I ordered 2 but only got 1, and the other was the outdoor bullet model needed to be RMAed) were resolved relatively quickly.
I especially like the ability to modify the image quality through the image adjustment feature. A feature the other camera does not have.
SpyTec sent and I received the item as promised so this review also goes to them.
Updated 5/14/2015: Well, I did enjoy the camera...I did an internal network change to accommodate an increase in speed from my ISP. When that happened, I lost both of my IP cameras and resulted in my having to do a reset. My TriVision 1080P bullet camera quickly reset (and I was able to re-incorporate the camera into the new network scheme) with a button provided and was clearly indicated in the documentation. Then, I turned my attention to the AEON OT. After numerous back and forths with SpyTec, I was successful in destroying the microphone on the camera (I inserted a paper clip and kept trying to do a reset even though I had a feeling that this was the mic hole...similar to the TriVision full size camera) as I was instructed to reset the camera in the "pinhole" on the casing (this was the last "solution" given as everything else up to that point failed to produce any sort of reset. Now, I get to take the camera to a repair shop so they can hopefully do the reset and replace the destroyed mic (an save me the cost of replacing a $200 dollar camera). I'm not a total idiot when it comes to electronics but when you design a product that makes it that difficult to do a minor reset, there is a problem. Would I buy another one....NO. Would I recommend it...NO.
Updated 6/2/2015: Well, I thought I had been saved when I got an email from SpyTec telling me to request a return authorization. I did so, got the RA and off it went. They received the item on May 18,2015. Yesterday, 6/1/2015, I sent them an email asking what the status was of my return ( I included the original return authorization # in my email inquiry). What do I get today, them asking me what my "original" purchase order # was rather than answering any question about the return authorization which I had given them. So now I wait for their next delay tactic.
Updated 6/5/15 (last one): No delays. SpyTec sent me a replacement camera and it is already installed. For this I am grateful and I raised my number of stars to 4 to reflect the fact that SpyTec backs their products.
Ok, i returned the first one and dared to reorder. Guess what came? The same rectangular camera, the Aeon ID. So if you want to get the Aeon ID and pay 40$ more than the listed price for it, then rder the Aeon OT. I am printing the return label as I type...
