H1 is a PH steel meaning it is precipitation-processed alloy, that's rolled hard without heat treating and has .1% nitrogen which acts like carbon in the steel matrix, but does not react to chlorine making rust. Surprisingly, it holds a sharpened cutting edge comparable to the premium knife steels being used in the industry by most knife manufacturers.

It's the perfect size for EDC and is very lightweight. Despite the fact that it doesn't have steel liners, I don't notice any difference in strength or rigidity compared to the Delica 4. I don't think this knife will have any problems holding up long term. The sabre ground blade is thicker along the top half of the blade, all the way to the tip, which makes it stronger (though not quite as smooth when slicing) as the FFG Delica. The Salt has a great blade-to-handle ratio - the handle is a bit shorter than the Delica's, yet it's blade is a little longer.
The best part is I no longer need to worry about rust or corrosion. I can use it on fishing trips, in the kitchen, at the beach, etc. maybe give it a quick wipe, then forget it and enjoy the rest of the day. Of course, it deserves a proper cleaning and oiling once in a while, but it's no big deal if I don't get to it right away.
Yellow is the best color for visibility underwater, especially the deeper you go. However, I dyed my handle scales orange. This is a very easy mod - I posted a couple of photos above.
I generally edc the Salt and a Delica, but I find myself reaching for the Salt more often. It's even been with me to Jamaica cutting up fruit and husking coconuts!!
-Easy to sharpen at home or in the field with a smooth random stone
-Easy to see when dropped, which is a huge plus when it's getting dark out when fishing!
-It doesn't rust!!!
-Easy to clean out when you get dirt or fish guts in it. Just swish it around in water or if you want just take it apart and clean it. Can't wait to use it for hunting season this year.
-Super tight pocket clip!! You won't easily lose it if it gets hooked on a branch or seatbelt.
-I hope nobody has to use for this but as a last ditch weapon. This thing will cause more than enough damage by slicing in various points on the body. Just keep in mind that this thing has a blunt point so no stabbing like a sewing machine. But if you angle it just right and stab. The rest will follow through. Unfortunately you have to see it in person to believe it.
-The point of the blade is great for people who go rafting!
-It may not be as grippy as my Delica, but it does just fine with fish guts on it.
-If you edc it in the waist band style with shorts, just note it is a little rough with the thumb hole being bigger. When I edc my Delica I don't have the problem with it stabbing me in the pelvic bone when I bend at the waist a certain way.
-Not really an issue. Like I said before the pocket clip is really secure. So it's a bit of pain to get out of you pocket in hurry. The pocket clip is almost as long as the handle.
I'm sure I missed a few things things about this pocket, but I can highly recommend it for EDC and even outdoor related tasks. If you do get it you won't regret buying it. Spyderco has been one of the manufacturers next to benchmade with quality control.
The blade is a little longer but the handle is a little shorter than the Delica. Also the FRN handle is shaped differently and has a waffle pattern than the volcano pattern on the Delicas. But my average large hands was able to get a comfortable 4 finger grip on it, so it's fine! I also like the yellow because almost all my other knives have black handles, so this makes it stand out. Pretty great!
