Spyderco’s collection of Value Folders, are named after admirable human characteristics. Our economical Persistence is smallest, the Tenacious is mid-sized, and our new Resilience the largest. All three folders offer a high level of cutting performance, materials and construction for around the cost of a tank of gas. The Resilience has a full-flat ground 8Cr13MoV stainless blade with a tip-to-handle cutting edge. Jimping cross-hatches the spine offering a slip-proof seat for the thumb while grasping and cutting. Black G-10 handle scales house skeletonized steel liners inside, a Michael Walker LinerLock, screw together construction and phosphor bronze washers around the pivot for smooth and resistance- free action. Houseglass stainless pocket clip is four-way compatible for tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand carry. Feature-for-feature, dollar-for-dollar, performance-for-performance the Resilience adds one more must-have best buy to the Spyderco line-up.
Representing the largest in Spydercos Collection of Value Folders, the Resilience is built to deliver a high level of cutting performance and usability at a budget conscious price. The Resilience has a full-flat ground 8Cr13MoV stainless blade with a razor-sharp plain, tip-to-handle cutting edge. The knife's sturdy, screw-together construction features black G-10 handle scales that house skeletonized steel liners to shave off unnecessary weight while maintaining strength and rigidity. Meanwhile, phosphor bronze washers around the pivot behave like a lubricant, ensuring fast, smooth open/close action.
The Resilience sports all the features that have made Spyderco famous for their one-handed, use-in-the-dark sensibility. The signature, 0.5-inch round hole on the top edge of the blade allows you to open the knife in one smooth, fluid move. Jimping textured cross-hatches along the spine offer a slip-proof seat for the thumb while grasping and cutting. The hour-glass stainless pocket clip is four-way compatible for tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand carry. And, like all Spyderco knives, the Resilience carries a lifetime warranty to be free of defects in materials and workmanship.

I can concur that this knife is light, sharp and has a great action. I love that you can move the clip to either side, in either position (4 options total), making it ideal for a daily carry. In other words, you can adjust the clip so that the knife comes out ready to use, as you wish to use it, from any pocket of your choice. The knife opens very smoothly and with a little practice, I can snap it open with one hand up (regular knife hold, like cutting vegetables) or down (as if I was going to stab something). I also enjoy the "eye" a lot. It doesnt get caught on anything, and is really great for opening the knife.
Its worth mentioning that upon receiving the knife, it was definitely bigger than I expected. Thats mostly to blame on the fact that I am a knife novice (knovice? lol). However, I am 6'5 and it just feels right in my hand.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to expanding my knife collection. I think Cold Steel will be the next brand I try, but I will definitely be purchasing other Spyderco knives in the future.
This has a long blade and opens very well. Just holding it in my hand makes me feel good.
Came sharp and and the blade is easy to maintain. Holds the edge very well. Well balanced and easy to handle. I Love This Knife!!!
Let me start off with saying that I am a knife maker. However I primarily do non-folding knives.
I wanted to have one that I could keep on my for whatever reason.
From my experience in knife making I have to say that this is definitely a quality knife, worth the price.
The steel that it is made from is excellent stainless steel that holds an edge very well.
And it is large enough to do anything you would need for a utility knife.
The flat grind of this is also very good for modding in the future. I have etched mine using the PCB acid method and it worked better than ever thought.
It has surpassed all of the previous folders I have owned.
If you have a decent sharpening set or some stones, this knife will last you a lifetime of sharpness.
In the end... If you need a good, rather large, folding knife for every day use... This is well worth the price for it.
Update: About 2 weeks later this knife started squeaking every time I'd close it, which got SUPER annoying. I shouldn't have to oil a knife right after I bought it!
