The mid-sized Tenacious has a black G-10 laminate handle, ergonomically milled with prolonged fatigue-free cutting in mind. Skeletonized steel liners tucked inside the handle, increase the handle's rigidity and strength without non-functional weight or thickness. The 8Cr13MoV stainless blade is coated in a non-reflective black coating and ground-flat from spine to cutting-edge for non-stop cutting. The blade's shape, coupled with an oversized Spyderco Round Hole, position the hand for instant and confident blade opening. Sharp from tip to hilt, the Tenacious offers the most cutting edge possible for the blade's length. A black 4-way pocket clip lets the folder be set in a variety of carry and draw positions: Tip-up/tip-down left-hand/right-hand.

Please please please, this is a fantastic knife, but if you order one educate yourself on fake tenacious's on Spyderco's website in their forum section.
There is 2 really easy clues for this model:
1- The torx screws holding the g-10 handles in place are rounded off. They should be a flat head that is flush. The pocket clip screws should be rounded. But look at the handle screws (just one handle screw shown in photo).
2- The spyders head is squared off on the logo of the blade. It should have more of a roundness to it.
Mine was definitely a fake. I was too scared to order it again. But im too spoiled my amazons shipping speed so i ordered the other tenacious offered it with the satin blade. That one came and is authentic. I assume most of these are authentic as well. But just be on the look out and be ready to return if need be
I am attaching photos THAT I FOUND on spyderco's forum. These are photos of fakes. I did not take these. But, however, this is EXACTLY how my knife looked that i returned. All the way down to the screwing side of the pivot screw being on the wrong side.
This is an import produced by Spyderco and while it certainly doesn't stack up to some of their better, American made knives such as the Manix II, this one is inexpensive enough to carry everyday and if you don't have one already, will most certainly start an addiction to Spyderco Knives.
After purchasing my Manix II from a friend, this one got retired from EDC usage and I now keep it in my glovebox. However for the few months I used it daily for 7+ hours, it still looks and performs brand new. I tightened the mechanism lock a hare out of the box but otherwise it still has the same sharp edge that it shipped with and looks as great as it did from day one.
Spyderco knives are probably my go-to's at the moment. They have some refreshing designs and their knives are of high quality, even the imported ones. This one is definitely not an exception, and if you're on the fence about this, please give it a try. Spyderco knives aren't for everybody, and some people can't get past the aesthetics or silly things like that. Personally, I love them, and wouldn't consider getting another knife in the same price range.
This knife gets a 9/10 from me, my only gripe being that I wish the blade was a tad bit longer.
This black one i received today was not the case. The G10 on the black tenacious seemed more like the plastic scales you would find on the Ontario rat 1 (which is a great knife for the price.) The pivot screw was cranked down so the blade was very much off center and not quick to deploy at all. Also the blade made a squeaky noise every time you open it and had to use two hands. The spydie hole was useless in my situation. The black coating on the blade looked like the coating you would find also on the black Ontario rat 1 which looks like it would flake off after a few uses. The only pros I can list are the blade lock up was good and the blade came razor sharp. The tenacious I received was authentic but the quality control was not there unfortunately. I owned this knife for about 20 minutes and dropped it off at the post office shortly there after.
Tips when opening:
The trick is to sink your entire thumb into the hole and flick your thumb up using your thumbnail to pop it.
You can also pinch your fingers through the hole (thumb and forefinger touching) and pop it downward. This is handy and flashy when handing it to someone.

Without a doubt FAKE. As spyderco knives are not made in china. And the logo is different.Read more
