The Square Jellyfish Jelly Legs Micro Tripod is incredibly light and only weigh less than 1/2 an ounce. Jelly Legs are very strong and made of a high grade Polycarbonate / ABS plastic. When folded Jelly Legs are just 2.75" long. When open they span about 4". For some additional flexibility there is a thumb screw that can increase the resistance and help the legs accommodate uneven surfaces. Jelly Legs were designed to hold pocket cameras and smart phones with a tripod mount. For added flexibility add the Micro Ball Head or larger ball head for heavier loads.

at first, it seems stable and would not topple; however, there is one major flaw with this tripod. I think it's because the legs are made out of cheap plastic, if you have any kind of vibration on the surface where you place the tripod or even very light wind blowing pass it, the phone (or a camera or a camcorder, depending on what you mount on it, the heavier the worse) will vibrate even more.
I was planning on mounting my new iPhone (or a second camcorder) on this tripod and put on top of a piano to record my daughter's recital as a second camera, but it would not work as the shots would be blurry because this tripod exacerbated the vibrations.
You may use it as a holder for your phone along with the other 2 parts above, though, and that's why I'm still not returning it.
My work sometimes requires me to create video records of meetings, and until I found this micro tripod, I was struggling to find something that was truly compact to do nothing more than support a small video camera at a controllable tilt angle on top of a conference table in such a way that would let me aim it at a white board or a projector screen.
I've tried multiple ones of the tripods that have the spindly bendable legs, but none of them were ever as small and compact as this one with its design. I've also tried Manfrotto's little pocket camera stands, and they might have worked out fine were it not for their unfortunate choice of a not-quite thumbscrew type of thumbscrew.
This is small enough that I'm able to leave this micro tripod attached by its 1/4" screw to the bottom of the video camera, and then just drop the whole thing into a padded part of a briefcase or shoulder bag to go from meeting to meeting, through airports, etc. If it happened to fold a little bit flatter against the bottom of the camera, that would be even better, but as it is, it's really quite good.
Pro's: Lightweight, Easy to Assemble, Compact. Cons: Not Very Sturdy - Difficult to get the right angle.
4/5 because fairness in advertising should be at the top of the item description it should say:
COMPLETELY PLASTIC PRODUCT. EVEN THE KNOB IS PLASTIC. IF YOU PUT A SWIVEL ADAPTER ON IT THAT IS METAL, IT WILL BE METAL BUT YOUR TRIPOD WILL STILL BE PLASTIC.
or something... it serves its purpose... just not very sturdy like you wish it was.
