I now have 12+ of these Stack-On storage cases; mostly red. I use them to store/organize all manner of small to medium size fasteners and parts. They are very rigid and the hinges and latches have held up quite well. I will continue to buy them when the price is right.

This is the main reason for this review; the price on these cases are all over the place, so be prepared to comparison shop. I just ordered two of these cases (received Feb. 15, 2016). A Red SBR-18 17 for $8.82, and a Yellow SB-18 17 for $6.29 (add-on).
As others have pointed out these cases Red/Yellow are advertised as having 17 compartments; 11 fixed compartments + 6 dividers. In truth there is the potential for 20 compartments but for the lack of 3 dividers. As I purchased multiple cases I have dividers to spare.

It's a very good compartment parts storage unit. But they put the giant label on with super glue that is often impossible to remove without the label breaking or stripping off leaving a very thin layer of plastic from the label that protects you from ever getting to the glue underneath. So not even Goo Gone can dissolve the glue. So I had to use a single edge safety razor to carefully scrape off the ultra-thin layer of plastic film. Naturally, that left a lot of scratches in the plastic lid that ruined the appearance. And even in the areas where only glue reside was remaining, the Goo Gone would not dissolve or even soften the glue - even after soaking it. So again I had to use the razor to get the glue off the lid.

I have purchased three of these boxes and on two of them, it took 20 minutes to pull the label off the lid - millimeter by millimeter going ever so slow. Not that I had any choice. That glue is super tough and really sticks to the label and the plastic box. Now why on earth do they need to use glue in the first place? They could have saved a lot of money by printing their advertisement label by just placing regular printed paper inside the box under the lid with absolutely no glue whatsoever. It's just insane to ruin such a great storage box with some idiot marketing person's idea of labeling the box with super glue. Great box for a somewhat reasonable price, but zero stars for the stupid label.

One of the features of a transparent plastic box is supposed to make it easy to see what's inside. So why did they go to such effort to permanently block the view with a label that blocks the view? I really like this storage box, but I am very hesitate to buy any more of them knowing how hard it is to remove the label.Read more ›

I got this for organizing odd sizes of hardware, some of which are just a few of the same size. Therefore, I would like to have as many small compartments as possible. But this comes with just six dividers whereas there are slots for nine--meaning that for a few cents worth of plastic, it could be about 33% more versatle and give me four more small compartments.

Otherwise it looks OK. So, don't be so cheap--I would have paid another 25 cents for 10 cents worth of plastic dividers.

I received two of these red Stack-On boxes as a gift two years ago, and have found them superior to any other storage boxes ever in my shop. I use mine to sort and store screws, nuts and bolts, small fix-it jigs. The boxes are solid construction, with positive snap closures. And, they stack! I just ordered two more in the color yellow, and noticed that this Model SB-18 is available from Amazon in several colors.

I have four grandkids that live at the pool during summer weekends. We find it very convenient to bathe them and get them ready for bed right after they get out of the pool at the end of the day. I was looking for storage for all the necessary grooming supplies that would let me see what was inside, was big enough to hold everything I need, and had a handle for carrying.

This case proved almost perfect. I'm able to store everything except the large bottles of shampoo and bath gel in it. For most people the weight is negligible and the carrying handle adequate. The clasps fit tightly for now.

I'd have given it only four stars if it wasn't so inexpensive. If the clasps fail over time, I'll just replace it.
