"Ms. Smith is also able to developbelievable characters. The reader will want to be part of Caprice's wonderfulfamily with their delicious dinners (recipes at the end of the book) andfriendly infighting. Finally, the author's plotting skills are impressive, asthe reader is not likely to guess the real killer until the big reveal at theend. This book isa good read for both cozy and romance fans." STAGED TO DEATH is a fun, charming, cozy. Not only is it a fun read but we learn about staging and are even treated to recipes. Wonderful, fun. Easy, escape. Excellent.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 5. Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine

Branching out. Now I know what that means! For me it means after over eighty published romances, I will now be writing mysteries, too. This series is so much fun for me because I created a heroine that has a lot of me in her. I'm a child of the 60's, a lover of the Beatles and now I appreciate antiques and retro fashion. (After all, haven't the 60's fashions just come back?) You'll see all of this mirrored in my amateur sleuth.
It's no secret that I fell in love in college. My husband and I will celebrate our 43rd anniversary this summer. I believe in the power of commitment and the hope that goes along with the promise of everlasting love. I'll be concentrating on planting clues and solving murders in my home stager mystery series. But a touch of romance will, I hope, add sparkle to all the books.
Readers often ask me about my pastimes. I have herb, flower and vegetable gardens that help me relax. And year round I spend most of my time with my husband as well as four cats, Halo, Paddingtin, London and Zoie Joy who are my constant companions. Last summer we brought in stray Halo who was pregnant. We found forever loving homes for two of her kittens--Tia and Mason--but we kept Paddington. I believe rescued animals have a special bond with their adoptive parents because they are grateful! Zoie who is two and kitty Paddington give smiles and belly laughs. I post pictures of all of them on Facebook and in my monthly newsletter.
Readers can find me on Facebook at KarenRoseSmithBooks and follow me on Twitter @karenrosesmith. I like to chat about what I'm doing, how writing is going, movies I've seen and books I've read. I also post my latest kitty pics, gardening photos or cooking ventures. Interacting with readers is a past-time I enjoy. I'm looking forward to the release of Book 3 of the Caprice De Luca mystery series GILT BY ASSOCIATION in FEBRUARY 2015 and book 4, DRAPE EXPECTATIONS in August. I 'm thoroughly enjoying the journey. I hope you are pulled into Caprice's adventures with me!
