The very idea of fashioning stained glass without lead and soldering equipment will appeal to nonexperienced crafters. The secret is relying on liquid lead and transparent glass paints. Although artist Bier provides a worthy portfolio of more than 60 designs, the basics of this craft are quickly dismissed, and step-by-step directions are nonexistent. Instead, the focus is on the panoply of stained glass objects to be made, from bells and mobiles to doors and windows, each with generic instructions. A 36-page section of templates to be copied or traced ends this reasonably helpful book. Barbara Jacobs --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
