The contrast between the world of a Wall Street executive and the leader of an Amazon Jungle tribe couldn't be more different, but that is what makes this book so exciting. The way Connery and Teman-e work together to avert an environmental disaster is endearing and the author's well thought out plot to take down Castelo Branco comes together like a well-oiled machine. I didn't want the book to end and would love to read a sequel focusing on Connery's former life on Wall Street and his relationship with his wife before their divorce. This book is fast paced can be easily read in a weekend. Very pleased with my purchase.

I'm an author who appreciates stories that leave the reader with something of value. Stained River did not disappoint. Even if it had been simply a "plane crash survivor makes his way out of the jungle" story, it would have been a great adventure. The addition of Teman-e and the primitive Machi-te, threatened by corporate greed and the evils of the modern world, make it a story with a message worth remembering. The character development of Connery is good as we see him change from one who would exploit into one who would protect a people who still know the world in a way that modern man has long since forgotten. I was particularly interested in this story as I'm putting the final touches on one jungle adventure ( set in Borneo ) and in the beginning stages of the next, set in Venezuela's Amazonas backcountry. - Ken Wallin, author of Passport to Adventure and the upcoming Falling to Eden.

This book was so different it is hard to describe. H is successful, but crappy human being.. Suddenly put in a jungle with primitive people he learned to admire and fear...turned his life around and returned to fix stuff he had allowed to happen... So much happened to him...rather hard to imagine, but all possible. I loved the book and will want to read it again sometime when I'm bored with normal life

Wonderful book! If you like mystery, intrigue, murder and friendship then this book is for you. I was taken away by the friendship of the 2 main characters. Two people from two very different parts of the world work together and earning the respect of one another. One of the best books I have read. Fast moving and kept me completely engrossed. Kept me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book.

Well-crafted novel about survival in the Amazon jungle and in the cut-throat financial world, along with dealing with a ruthless and merciless head of a mining operation. I loved the adventure and I loved the characters that the author crafted. I also liked how he blended the cultures.

Great read with professional editing by a professional author!

Although this book was fiction it was an eye opener into the raping of the Amazon's forests and rivers and what can happen to the native tribes there. The story line was engrossing. I really enjoyed this book and will look for more from this author.
