But, I am a sucker for cute stud earrings, so I ordered them. They arrived in a couple of days, and were nicely packaged.
These earrings are perfect for church, weddings, baptisms, and many other special occasions where you want to look your best. They are stylish and look really elegant.
They are a must-have for any woman who wants to look nice without breaking the bank. No one will ever know that you paid less than 5 dollars for these gorgeous earrings.
My problem with these earrings is that the backs are extremely tiny. My fingers don’t work as efficiently as I have gotten older, so I prefer the larger earring backs for that reason.
So, I simply fiddle and twiddle until I get the back on. Or, I switch it out and use one of the larger backs to some earrings I already own.
I recommend these stylish earrings for anyone who wants to spice up your wardrobe without spending an arm and a leg.
I have super sensitive ears, and my body has absolutely no reaction to the metal on the posts, which is awesome. When I first opened the package, I was a bit unnerved that the pearls were not perfectly spherical, but rather slightly ovoid (almost unnoticeably ovoid mind you, but hey, I admit that I'm picky with my pearls). In any case, I wound up loving that very idiosyncrasy when I put them on and looked in the mirror. And for some reason, I have noted that these earrings do not build up a lot of dirt / gunk on them, so they don't need to be cleaned as often as I usually do with my jewelry. What I love even more is that I can sleep comfortably with them on! The posts are slightly rounded at their ends, so they don't stab you when you lay down on a pillow. All in all, I will buy definitely another pair of pearl earring eventually, but I have a sneaky suspicion it will probably be just a backup pair of these! They class up any outfit and any occasion, even my daily outfit of medical scrubs!
EDIT: I forgot to mention that while these do get tangled in my hair (like 100% of all earrings do when you have long, curly hair), the posts are super strong and don't pull off when tugged by my hair! I never, ever worry about my hair pulling them apart like I did with my previous favorite pair. I absolutely adore how secure they are and would buy them for that reason alone.
UPDATE 11/2014: I bought a second pair after losing one, and I am very disappointed with the second pair. The shape of this pair does not match each other whatsoever. The difference is also noticeable when placed on your ears. I 'm on the fence about returning them since I need a pair for Thanksgiving...
A couple of days ago, one of the pearls came off the post. I contacted Amour customer service to see about replacing them. My e-mail was promptly answered by Connie, who informed me that they can send me a replacement, but that the pearls are glued to the posts and if the earrings are worn a lot, especially in the shower, the glue can weaken or wear off. I decided not to send them back, and will re-glue them myself with super glue. I'm not changing my rating, because I'm satisfied with the answer I received - it makes perfect sense to me. I wanted to update my review with this for 2 reasons:
1. To make others aware about the issue I had, so if it happens to you, you won't be surprised.
2. To say how happy I am with the really great customer service I received from Connie. She was friendly, informative, and really quick to answer my questions. I couldn't have asked for more in a customer service experience. I'm really pleased with my dealings with Amour, and with Connie in particular!
For years, I had trouble with earrings - I'd put them in, and immediately my earlobes would start burning, getting red and inflamed. I had no idea why, and figured I just wouldn't ever be able to wear earrings. Then I did some research, and found out I was most likely allergic to the metal (usually nickle) in most earrings, and that I could get earrings that were "hypoallergenic". I was cautiously excited - hopeful that I might be able to wear earrings again, but not 100% convinced.
I found these earrings, and thought they looked nice. I've always fancied the idea of a nice set of pearl earrings. And for this price, I figured even if they irritated my ears, I wouldn't be out that much money. And if they didn't bother my ears, then I'd have a nice set of earrings! I got them on Monday, put them in, and immediately I felt....nothing. No burning. No swelling. No redness. I was surprised, but still a bit dubious. I decided to leave them in for a bit and see what happened. I can now happily report that I've had them in for over 24 hours (I even slept with them in), and my ears feel fine!! And, what's more, I love the look of these earrings!
Others have commented that the earrings aren't perfectly round, or perfectly white. Both of these are true. But I actually like them more that way. They're more of a light ivory color than white, but I think that gives them a warmer look. Also, they're slightly flatter than round - as if someone took the pearl and squished it ever so slightly. I like this, too - it makes them more unique :-)
All in all, I'm super happy with these earrings. They're simple, they're a great price, they're pretty, and they don't hurt my ears - a girl couldn't ask for much more! :-)
