The Premise: A woman is followed or chased throughout the nearby surrounding Las Vegas desert by a real infected “zombie.” Eventually she makes her way back to Las Vegas for a gripping and emotional climatic ending that also sets up for a sequel.
There are intense, gruesome, creepy, twisted and suspenseful moments all throughout this movie, for example...the women actually develops a sort of emotional attachment to the individual zombie that’s after her, leading to some very aggressive horrifying situations.
My personal opinion: This movie caught me off guard. I reviewed it out of sheer boredom on Amazon Prime, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually was. As a “Walking Dead Fan,” the standards are set very high for the acceptance of a generic zombie movie. But this movie was actually very good, with a complete story to tell from start to finish, and excellent character development. This movie also has a (hint) of “Quentin Tarantino” influence running all through its infected veins…love it!
The Facts:
1. Running Time: 1hr. 32 min.
2. Widescreen HD
3. Sound 5.1 HD-DTS
4. Beautiful and Gorgeous Cinematography.
5. No dry or boring areas at all...movie is very interesting.
6. Excellent story with climatic ending left open for a possible sequel.
7. Excellent Character Development.
8. Medium action, can be a bit emotional at times.
9. The movie is Gruesome, Shocking, Bloody, Gory and Twisted.

There are probably some spoilers in here so be warned. This started out interesting. The lady becomes stranded in the Nevada desert after her boyfriend's car gets stuck in the sand and he becomes zombie dinner. Her boyfriend had made arrangements for the both of them to fly out if they could just get to the small airport where his friend is waiting. That becomes her goal. The zombie follows her across the desert hoping for another meal as there is no else around to dine with. There were a few, brief moments that were tense and I jumped in a couple of them. There was humor as the zombie became the target for her rants about men (I really couldn't argue with some of her points:) ), not that he cared about the verbal abuse. As for survival, she was just lucky for the most part. I really don't recommend cocaine and vodka as survival supplies (or at any other time). I was enjoying the movie until it started getting...odd (bad odd, not good odd). She encounters a couple of escaped convicts who decide to rape her. After the zombie eats one of them, she starts seeing him in another light I suppose. She also decides to use him as a mule my putting her supplies in an inflatable raft she found, tying it to a tire and throwing the tire over the zombie. She walks, he pursues while hauling her supplies for her. Rather clever if not risky. But then she starts treating him like a little puppy. When he attacks she orders him to stop and he does--ooookay. Is there an obedience school for zombies? When she encounters soldiers, she refuses to go with them rather than abandon her zombie puppy, who she hides from them. Tired and dehydrated, she would rather walk in the heat than catch a ride with soldiers? All over a zombie? I won't say how but she eventually loses the zombie and reaches the airport. Now, instead of flying out she finds the ambition to go find her son who she gave up for the party life. Either she gave him up or social services took him...I'm not real clear on which. Any rate, with her new-found mommy instincts she goes off to get the boy. I'll leave off there. Suffice it say there could be a sequel; however, only by a miracle or with the almighty power of a script writer could they have survived. First half of this movie is 4 stars; second half is 2 stars giving us a grand average of 3 stars.

I was surprised by this one. It does start a bit cheesy and I almost gave up on it but it has a nice twist on a zombie movie and a few scares thrown in, it's hard to find decent zombie movies if you are a fan of the undead and this is a pretty good one. The zombie makeup isn't too bad. Trigger warning there is a rape scene but it works with the movie and doesn't go on too long.

Ignore the first 17 minutes & then it’s good…recommend for those who like the zombie genre or dark/snarky humor
Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2018Verified Purchase
Seriously, ignore the first 17 minutes and if you really need to watch it, make sure you watch it after that point because that’s when it gets better. It turned out to be a pretty decent movie. Would recommend for those looking for a fresh take on the zombie genre or dark/snarky humor.
The good:
~ dialogue (way better than expected!)
~ dark/snarky humor (insert tampon scene…)
~ keeps your interest (after the 17 minute mark)- my friend with ADHD who has difficulty watching movies made it through the whole thing and commented it’s been a long time since a movie’s done that
~ there are some emotional scenes, which were handled well and mainly have to do with flashbacks
~ cast was excellent
~ video was great (not choppy, grainy, bumpy, etc.)
The bad:
~ slow going/annoying the first 17 minutes
~ there are times when the woman acts like a complete idiot, then there are times where she is as smart as a whip (wish they would have stuck with the latter). There is the presence of girl power/strong female lead with this film, but it gets a bit tarnished with the stupid actions.
Overall would recommend every zombie lover see this at some point in your life. Regarding the ending, you’re either gonna love it or hate it. I didn’t mind it as it left it open for the possibility of a sequel.
Trigger warnings/parental advisory: death, guns, zombies eating people (duh), a good amount of drugs (cocaine), alcohol, swearing, menstrual cycle blood (shown multiple times), not politically correct, stripping (flashback), rape (of a woman), adult situations all around. This is not a film for kids.

With a little help from a Zombie
Reviewed in Germany on October 29, 2017Verified Purchase
