An excellent short biography. A must read, lest we forget what a monster Stalin was and how his cruel Communist regime waged war against the Russian people. Paul Johnson is a wonderful writer, engaging and thoughtful. One of the great historians of our time.

This book is short, but it is very well written and contains a lot of explanation of Stalin's evil character. It ended too fast for me...I was hoping for more.

Stalin seen without fantasies, showing him as a monster who played, duvided and controlled everyone. How a wonderful dream of equality turned itself into a nightmare.

A reasonably researched and written book. It adds to the store of information of one of the world's most infamous dictators.

An excellent short biography of Josef Stalin. Mr. Johnson hits all of the high points and also provides additional recommendations for further, in depth, study.

Not my favorite style of reading. Kind of slow in places with repeated information.

Short and easy to read. A lot of inconsequential early life information, but not so much about his great impact on world history.

Good short description of Stalin's ruling style while in power. Reminds us how some leaders will dispose of life so easily for their personal agendas. And how other people will support based on fear. I think all should read to have a reminder of what happened and what could happen again.
