I normally don't read books about shape shifters, but this book is so much more than that.
Cooley isn't just a shape shifting panther. She's also a proper southern lady who bakes pies and is the picture of a perfect neighbor.
Jody's voice is so unique. There are so many great one liners I can't even count. I mean who comes up with this stuff? Awesome
When Evan moves next door, lo and behold, he's a panther too! Cooley is so excited because she's not used to having panther company. But Evan's got secrets and even Cooley's pies may not be enough to sway him.
I loved all the cat elements in this book. And it ends leaving you wanting more. I wish I could do a better job describing how great this book is. You have to read it to believe it. A must read for feline lovers!! Highly recommend.
Cooley is sweet, but her intentions are not so much so. To quote the book,"She wanted to
befriend him and have sex with him. Why was that so terrible?"
*Small Spoiler alert*
Evan would probably not be as resistant if he felt he could trust a pantheress. He was changed against his will and he thought the past would repeat itself if he let Cooley into his life. He believed she had a killer instinct and would try to control him.
The book was funny, sweet, and at times it was romantic and sexy. Stalking Evan is just packed full of awesomeness! I really enjoyed reading it and learning more about this unique shapeshifter world.
While this is a standalone book and can be read by itself I would highly recommend reading Cooley's Panther first since that story introduces the characters and explains their history together.
Stalking Evan is too awesome to resist. I suggest you buy your copy immediately so you can read it tonight. If you are an animal lover you will especially enjoy the story.
Ok, actually, no. Go buy "Cooley's Panther," the first in this series, first. Read that. When it ends after a mere 6000 words and you're left wanting to know more about the infuriatingly likeable Cooley and her hot but surly neighbor Evan, read "Stalking Evan."
I don't want to give away any plot points, but after the events of "Cooley's Panther," Cooley is pleased to learn Evan is a shifter like her. She sees their shared gift as something that should bring them together, in more ways than one. Evan disagrees entirely and he's not above being as rude as possible to shake Cooley from his tail.
But the two have larger problems than the untidy state of Evan's kitchen and Cooley's nosey tendencies. The shifter world is large, and suburbia may not hide Cooley and Evan for long.
