Join Gwynedd Crowther on her journey into magic, mystery, and love.
Bearsden’s resident ancestral witch Gwynedd Crowther searches for solutions to her deadly fairy problem in the third novel in The Bearsden Witch Series by author J.C. Yeamans! Reviewers have described the series as “a story that will enthrall and ensnare the reader” with a “strong female character, magic, romance (Scotsman-need I say more), mystery, and a great story arc.”
In the follow-up to Schooling of a Midlife Witch, ancestral witch Gwynedd Crowther is in a race to find a spell to close the portal in the mound before an evil Tuatha Dé fairy finds her, seeking revenge. She visits Great Britain, hoping to find her great-aunt and answers to protect herself, and meets Archie’s ancestral witch family in Scotland.
Meanwhile, the Bearden Coven battles the city council who are making plans to level the fairy mound in the Celestial Gardens. What will happen to the magical space if the city tinkers with it?
Gwynedd cajoles Nick Evans to remain silent about the existence of the Bearsden Coven. She meets the new visiting professor from Northern Ireland and experiences strange encounters. As the visions and threats mount, will the coven find a portal-closing spell before the evil fairy finds her?

I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion of the tale.
This story is well-written, has likeable main characters, a good supporting cast, and has all the feels. Here we have growth, friendship, loyalty, and love to balance betrayal, heartbreak, frustration, and moments of sheer terror.
If you like fantasy and stories about witches and unusual supernatural beings, with a good dose of mystery that keeps you guessing until the end, you'll enjoy this book. Better yet, pick up Secrets of a Midlife Witch, the first book of the Bearsden Witch series, and read the series in order. You'll get more good stories and learn the background of the characters and affairs of this book. Bonus that the series is on Kindle Unlimited.
It was nice to meet Gwynedd’s Great Aunt and Archie’s family. This book has absolutely amazing foreshadowing. The hints are there the whole time, but yet I was definitely surprised at who the Tuatha Dé fairy was. Overall it was a highly engaging read, I highly recommend you try it. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Last book we left off with Gwyn and Archie planning a trip to see if Gwyn's Aunt Gorawen is still alive and then to Scotland to visit Archie's family.
Things are still moving along quickly and the Gwyn and Archie make the trip with some surprising results with both of their families. I laughed, felt the depth of the family bonds, along with the urgency to learn about Gwyn's family before the evil Tuatha De'fairy finds her.
We have a new professor from Ireland arriving which offers Gwyn a chance to learn more about the lore and possible save her.
Nick hasn't given up hope on Gwyn, the coven is working hard trying to find the spell to close the fairy mound and the author has a few surprises up her sleeves to keep us enthralled with the story and the characters.
I am so looking forward for the next book.
Definitely read these books in order, the storyline builds from one book to the next.
I can’t wait for book 4 to see where the characters and the story go from here.
