The sign itself is exactly as pictured, made with silver top and bottom borders and raised silver letters that standout nicely from the black background.
Unfortunately, after only one day on the door the sign melted. Seriously, just the heat from sunlight on the door destroyed this sign in a single day! This was July in Maryland - it didn't even reach the 100 degree mark. I'm not sure if my sign was some sort of lemon or if they simply can't withstand direct sun but regardless this product did not meet my needs.
I will be returning it immediately, but I would still recommend it for applications where it wasn't going to be in direct sun because it looks decent.
We get visits from steak salesmen, frozen food salesmen, electricity rate lowerers, security services, AT&T, curb painters, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Pentecostals, roofers, tree trimmers, and vegetable salesmen.
You name it, they ring OUR doorbell. And I have a 6'3" John Wayne-type husband with an unconventional sense of humor who gets REALLY offended by these incursions on his time.
IF HE BEATS ME TO THE DOOR, he will actually (with a completely straight face and sincere demeanor) tell the Jehovah's Witnesses that he's an atheist, the Mormons that he's a Baptist minister, and the Pentecostals that he's studying to become a Rabbi. He tells everyone else that no matter what they're selling, we can't afford it.
I thought this sign might help me avert these interrupting episodes & so far, so good.
The sign's lightweight & easy to install (I used my own double-stick tape, not the bit supplied in the package). Cleaned the mounting area with rubbing alcohol & secured it to our wrought iron security door. It's not too offensive, yet the message is obvious & easy to read. It can be easily seen from our front walkway, so hopefully, it will decrease the unwanted foot traffic to our door. I think the sign might fade if in direct sunlight, but ours is shaded under a portico. Though the sign's plastic, it looks like a more expensive metal sign.
Very happy with this solution, though my hubby might have to find a new outlet for his own special brand of confrontational humor. Look out, telemarketers!
9/3/11 UPDATE: OOO-RAH! Works like a charm. Yet another uninvited Sales Visitor walked to the door, turned around, & went after the neighbors, instead. Neighbors need to read this review, don't they? "But dear, why in the WORLD would I need a 'no soliciting' sign?"
_Bottom Line_ Yes, I would recommend this to a friend and would buy another if I needed to.

Just okay. The paint on the letters was all over the place. It is cheap and it looks cheap also. It did come with double sided tap even though other reviews said theirs didn't.Published 15 days ago by Southern Charm
I brought these for work to have on our outside doors. They did the job that I bought them for. They look nice and were perfect for the price.Published 27 days ago by Merryn L. Oliveira
Nice and large print to read. Comes with foam stickers to attach. Made very well, I think they'll last a while.Published 1 month ago by Gutierrez
