After flipping though this book a few times (and loving it each time) I find that the projects have stayed with me. When I was shopping at Costco last weekend I saw a stack of white towels and immediately thought "I could use these for that cute beach towel stamping project," and when I was at Ikea I wanted to buy all the terra cotta pots so I could stamp them for Christmas gifts.
What I value even more than the quality of each of these projects is how approachable this book is. This can be your first time stenciling something and feel confident that you'll have a great end result. This book isn't about doing everything perfectly; it's about making beautiful things and enjoying yourself in the process. As Anna Joyce writes, "This book is meant to be joyous. It is about trying something new, embracing 'imperfections.' and most of all, taking the time to create by hand."

I was fascinated by the number of techniques available to enhance fabrics. I am a dye fiber artist, working with indigo and other dyes up scaling garments usually from my local the thrift shop. I fully expected to try the stencil and fabric painting.
This book is written with the novice in mind (my judgment of course) offering steps and tips. This is my second book by this author.

I love the idea of this book. While the projects she includes are very doable, it is her personal narrative, sense of style, and background that make this book stand out in its category. A very enjoyable read! Thank you!

This book is an inspiring piece of work. The genius of the artist is so amazing and fun to ponder. I wondered, could I do any of these things then thought: she gave me all the ways to try it out! Nicely prepared layout, pictures, drawings, directions. I recommend.

I sent it back. The depth of information just isn’t there. These basics on printing can be found on the internet. She recommends all surface acrylic paint for dessert plates. I’m not sure if that’s food safe or washable.
The designs are all very, very simple and just a bit too cute like dots, half dots and stripes. Most of the items are things I’d never make or use but details are lacking to make use on a different project. I’m not going to learn about printing if I’m copying without deeper explanation.
There are far better books on this subject. Buy one of those.

This book is so beautiful. I am especially excited about the wall stencils - so much cheaper and more original than wallpaper! At my daughter's recent birthday party, the kids played while the moms passed this book around, picked up from the coffee table. I ordered another one for my sister for her birthday.

Completely subjective here. I only read as far as the introduction, but found the author's tone so irritating I sent the thing back at once. Your mileage may vary.

What a great book by Anna Joyce. So many ideas that are easy to implement. The book is a guide that inspires the reader to make their own unique art piece!
