What's in the box
If you have something to cut, the STANLEY Finish Cut SharpTooth Saw is the tool for you. This multipurpose saw has SharpTooth technology that uses three cutting surfaces to cut 50% faster than conventional STANLEY saws and induction-hardened teeth that stay sharp up to 5 times longer than standard teeth.
The Stanley 26-Inch 12-Points-Per-Inch ShortCut Saw features an aggressive 3-sided tooth design that cuts wood 50-percent faster than conventional handsaws. The blade's induction hardened teeth stay sharp 3- to 5 times longer than standard teeth, and the hardwood handle has a large opening for a comfortable grip even while wearing gloves. While an excellent choice for cutting through wood, the saw is also an ideal choice for cutting plastic pipe and laminate. The saw comes with a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. The teeth are tempered, so they likely won't sharpen well if/when the time comes. The set is a bit aggressive and cuts about a 3/32" kerf if you cut straight and true down a marked line. I would recommend using a striking knife to set a line if you are doing any precision woodworking. For best results, cut slightly proud of your marked line and plane it. You'll be much happier with the results, even with an expensive saw.
As for general use, this saw is a pretty good alternative to the expensive Lynx or Crown. You won't get quite the performance, and you need to slow your sawing motion down a bit to cut down on the blade wobbling at the end as the blade is not particularly thick and has no stiffener. A good saw overall for a fairly low price.
