From the Manufacturer
The Stanley Works, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut; was founded in 1843 by Frederick T. Stanley. A few years later, in 1857, Fredericks cousin, Henry Stanley, founded The Stanley Rule and Level Company. In 1920, The Rule and Level Company merged with The Stanley Works and would go on to become its famous Hand Tools Division. Over the years, The Stanley Works has produced some of the most innovative and useful tools ever made. Among these tools are the Bailey Plane, the Surform shaper, the PowerLock tape rule and most recently the FatMax line of products. Today, more than ever, Stanley continues to be an industry leader in tool innovation. In 2001, Stanley introduced more than 100 new products, bringing to 400 the number of new products introduced in the past four years. As a direct result of Stanleys commitment to excellence, Stanley was awarded the Prestigious Golden Hammer Award, presented for New Product Innovation in both 2000 and 2001.

Holding this thing was pretty empowering. It may sound a bit ridiculous, but I really felt like I could break, destroy, or defend myself from someone or anything if necessary. Without a problem, we broke the ice surrounding the steps, and it was hardly noticeable if the bar was even used at all. Just be careful when swinging this thing around so that you don't hit anyone! Safety first, always.
This thing is awesome! I'd say get one if you don't even need it!
Definitely recommend, real high quality crowbar.
This baby is huge and seems like it will tackle any job. Recently I used it on a stump I was cutting with a chain saw. I would make a cut then pry the piece off the rest of the way with the crow bar to save the saw from being bogged down. Think I will not have to replace this anytime soon so unless you are trying to use it to release a car stuck in the ice, I think you will not be breaking this anytime soon. If you don't like the color, there is always spray paint.
It does have an issue. The purpose of the bar is to extract nails with enough of the head showing to get a grip on the shank. I find that for about 5-10% of the nails pulled, the claw folds the head and makes the nail unremovable with this bar. I believe it is due to the way the claw is formed. The sides of the claw are too steep, they start a fold in the head of the nail, and that fold causes a separation of the sides of the nail head. The V of the claw at the apex is not sharp enough to help grab the nail. This means that you have to go to the alternative means. I use an irwin cutter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N2GY3AC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . The compound action combined with the cutting edge and offset lips does a great job. Not the ideal tool because of the short handles, but does clean up the mess left by the wrecking bar.
