The product is as pictured, not as described. The old square headed, made in USA nail sets are, unfortunately, a thing of the past. Chinese knockoffs abound. After returning these ( I bought a few sets, as other carpenters were always coveting mine ) I attempted purchasing them from the Home Despot, with no joy. Returned those also. Then contacted several other suppliers, who were not even aware of the product change Stanley had pulled, only to find that the square heads are simply not available. Only recourse if you demand the real item is to search for old stock. If minus 5 stars was possible, that's what Stanley would get on this one. I have to agree with Cliff, The only current quality product is the Starett. ( Still made in USA !! )
But that doesn't apply to these, this is a well made set. The tips are slightly concave to give a good seat for the nail head and the striking ends are nice and flat to ensure good contact with the peen of the hammer. I also like the size and coarseness of the knurled body, it ensures a good, firm grip. I haven't used them a great deal so far - just the door and window frames in a one room remodeling job at home - but it's nice to know I've got a quality tool for future use on my next project.
"now that's craftsmanship" he said.
you can't have nails visible to people these days i guess.
