The screwdrivers are plasticy, but nonetheless comfortable to use. They don't pinch or strain the wrist in any way that I've found. They are somewhat detached from the shank at the butt end and will freely spin if you palm the end while turning them, increasing efficiency and lending to better ergonomics. Overall a very well thought out product and worth the price of the 'add-on' admission. They far exceed the ergonomics of those cheap metal ones your father used back in the day :p If you need a smaller set (and really, who doesn't from time to time), they come recommended.
I’d say that the container alone is well worth the price- it’s compact and the screwdrivers are secured with slots that pop in. The contoured grip makes them especially easy to use on small items. The set is great quality for such a reasonable price.
You do have to be careful not to strip ultra-seal component screws on electronics since the tips are not magnetized. More torque may be needed when working on some laptop parts, if you’re not very careful to avoid stripping the screws. Given the great price, this set is perfect for everyday repairs (screw replacement on eye/sunglasses, battery replacement on kids’ toys, but you should be careful when working with higher end electronics such as laptops and tablets. The rotating end allows you to use your fingertip to apply downward pressure while a finger and thumb do the rotating, this is typical of many of these sets. What isn't typical is the fat rubber center to place said finger and thumb upon to rotate. This cheap plastic case also works wonderfully and has held up too.
They are not magnetic and the sizes range from eyeglass use to the small screws on laptops and other electronics, they cover about 98% of all small screws, but only slotted and phillips styles.
These are really great and I'm coming here to purchase my fourth set, not because I ruin them, but because I use them so often that I'm annoyed to have to go to another room to get them.
I'm a tech and have used drivers like this since the 70's, when they weren't so common, and I recommend that you buy two sets so that you can have them in at least two places around the homestead. But then again, maybe we need the exercise. Hmm, but not the frustration for sure.
I hope that all your online purchases go smoothly and turn out to be as useful as this one has for me.
They are easy to grip but a little hard to turn. They are very light. I would have preferred a set that had a touch more weight, but for under $4, they are worth the money.
I wouldn't call them "precision" because the flat blades are a touch too thick and wanted to slip out of the screws. They'll do for the job and if they are lost in a junk drawer or borrowed and never returned, I got my $4 worth out of them to replace the speaker in my cell phone.
