LOVED BY GENERATIONS
The Stanley brand has a rich 100+ year history. Born from inventor William Stanley Jr. who forever changed the way hot drinks were consumed, in 1913 he fused vacuum insulation and the strength of steel in one portable bottle, inventing the all-steel vacuum bottle we know and love today.
In the century since, his vacuum bottle evolved from concept to icon and has become an essential part of workdays, road trips and outdoor adventures.

About this one, I have to say I am really impressed. Stanley has redesigned their Travel Mugs, and version 2.0 is even better than the original!
1. They are slimmer than before, so they easily fit in any car cup holder. (The last one was a liiiiittle to wide, which was a pain sometimes.)
2. The trigger-action top has been totally redesigned and works much more smoothly. No leaks. No drips. And easy one-handed use.
3. As always, they keep my coffee hot for hours while being rugged and darn good looking.
HOWEVER, I can't get past the taste. I've hand washed and dish washed the lid thoroughly, yet every time I take a sip, it takes like burnt rubber/plastic. It's fine if you pour it into a mug. Hopefully the smell/taste will go away so I don't have to carry another thing or remove the lid to sip.
It does however have a funny taste when new due to offgassing in the rubber. I found this true with tea and even with coffee. The seals appear to be silicone, which are generally harmless, but it does add an odd taste. Definitely worth it to leave it overnight with some boiled water and run it through the seals. I did this and the odd taste disappeared.
Even with the offgassing, I love this thing. I tested this mug against a variety of thermoses and vacuum containers. It did very well, especially considering that this was the only one with an easy to poor top. The two best thermoses required unscrewing of a cap and pouring into another container, where as this mug just needs push of a button. You can't beat this design for convenience.

When it comes to keeping your drinks hot could not ask for anything better, without pre-heating it kept my coffee hot for well over 9hours (recommend letting drink cool if you want to drink it within 3hrs)
The lid has 3 main parts to dismantle which could of been designed better, the screw that holds the lid together has a hole which has no function keeping day old coffee in, other parts of the lid also has lots of small spaces to keep residue of coffee which is near impossible to shift, I recently started to get bad smells from the cup, which after lots of investigation turned out to be coming from the button, as it turns out when you slightly press the button to release pressure (as per manual) it also takes with it a small portion of the contents of the cup, which can not be reached to be cleaned.
Only after dismantling the button did I discover the months old coffee and mold, I have always filled the cup only to the line and soaked all the parts of the lid for cleaning as instructed but obviously there are parts that are not covered in cleaning and with movement particles of liquid will get in the button.
my advice is if you fancy the risk of losing the smallest gasket in the world, take the button apart and clean it all the time, otherwise the cup is only good for keeping water in.
I have since lost the spring and gasket and contacted the manufacturer who not only replaced the missing parts but sent me a whole new lid also at no cost, and after trial and error it's lid is quite robust and couldn't be happier with my cup, I now make coffee and add a little cold water when making so it will be at a drinkable temperature a few hours later
