I got the BC1509 a few months back for my Odyssey PC1200 (and lower capacity models) and it works great. I primarily use it for non-vehicle use and it is charged with no parasitic drain loading it down. I did not test the alternator-check, pulse-conditioning or jump-start functions. It also is great for my Optimas.

I found that it charged my agm up to about 14.75 volts as measured on a Fluke 87V multimeter in absorb at 15.2 amps as indicated on the display. Then current further tapered off and switched to float charge ending at about 3amps per the display at 13.55 volts. This seems to fall inline with Odyssey specifications, although this charger is not on their officially approved list. I'm not sure if it has full-time temperature compensation, although some form of temp-comp may kick in during extremes.

Like most automobile chargers, it will get to about 95% charge, and expect the alternator to do the final finish if necessary. In my case, I switch over to a Stanley BC209 (or the beefier 6a BC6809) charger/maintainer to do the final top-off if I have the time.

UPDATE ON FLOAT: I was finally patient enough to track the float charge, and no longer need the maintainers to finish the job. Many chargers drop to float too soon, and the 3a change to float left me initially a little disappointed. Once it drops into float "FLO" on the display, the fans will eventually spin down and the unit will maintain at 13.55 volts. About every 45 minutes, the fan will come back on for 10 seconds and then spin down again. After about 6 hours, I noticed that the voltage had jumped up to an even 13.60 volts. (on the multimeter, not on the charger display.)

But did it finish the job in float after 6 hours? YES.

This is an outstanding charger. Lightweight and works as advertised to charge golf cart batteries. I have an old E-Z-Go 36 volt golf cart that wasn't quite charging fully when using the E-Z-Go charger, probably due to batteries not having been properly cared for by prior owner and therefore close to its end of life. Because the E-Z-Go charger wasn't working properly, I used a 12 volt charger to charge the 3 pairs of batteries individually but that was getting tedious. Decided to try this charger. Initially, it wasn't charging 36 volts even though the voltage indicator properly chose the correct voltage. There would be a double beep when I pressed the fast charge button but nothing would happen. But it recognize and charge 24 volts. I was using the alligator clamps directly on the battery post since the rectangular charge adapter for the E-Z-Go provided didn't fit this vintage cart. A call to support informed me that I needed to use the O-ring adapters to charge 36 and 48 volts. So I screwed in the O-rings and indeed, the charger properly recognized 36 volts and fast charged it at 12.5 amps properly ramping down the amps as it approached full charge. I couldn't be happier for this charger I feel revived my batteries.

I had an industrial battery charger go bad on my boom lift. Every replacement I could find was at least $300 many were $400. Additionally, many of them were rated for a lower amperage. The Stanley charger does a great job charging my 4 6v deep cycles. It was about the same price as many other 12v chargers but with the flexibility to charge almost system. The only draw back to this charger is that I have to set the battery type and tell it to perform a fast charge every time I plug it in. This is only a drawback because I use it for work almost every day but I still think it is not worth four time the money just so that I wouldn't have to press the buttons every time.
If you need a charger for atvs, golf carts, cars or industrial equipment I would definitely recommend this one.

I have a Club Car golf cart and wanted a backup battery charger for it in case the original charger had any problems. The fact that the GBCPRO is advertised as being able to charge golf carts as well as other lower voltage applications including common 12v batteries, I ordered one.

The package arrived in good condition. I unpacked the GBCPRO and was immediately impressed with the different adapter plugs and leads that came with it. I read through the manual then decided to charge a deep cycle 12v marine battery I have. The battery charged fine in about 8 hours and the GBCPRO switched to maintenance mode as the manual stated. So far so good.

The problems started when I tried charging my 48v Club Car golf cart. I installed the three prong round adapter plug appropriate for the Club Car's charge receptacle, plugged in the power cord for the GBCPRO, then plugged the charge cord into the golf cart. The GBCPRO successfully detected the 48v battery system in the cart, I switched the charger to wet cell mode, then pressed the charge button. After about 20 seconds the GBCPRO indicated the golf cart had a full charge which I know it did not. I double-checked the golf cart's batteries with my Fluke digital multimeter and the batteries were only at 45v. I tried several more times with the same results. When I used the voltage button on the GBCPRO, it said my golf cart batteries were at 56.5v which they were not.

I then tried the ring terminal adapter cable to connect the GBCPRO directly to the golf cart batteries without using the round golf cart plug adapter. The GBCPRO did detetct the 48v battery system, charged for about 30 minutes, then indicated a full charge. However the cart's batteries were still only at 45v.
