I have owned one of these for about 5 years now. My first one I got sophomore year of college because I was sick of instant and the available options of campus. Having both a travel mug and a french press wrapped into one means I only have one thing to clean at the end of the day instead of two. If I was running late to work or class, I could also let the coffee steep while I was moving around and then add the press into it at a later time. I like my coffee strong. The only reason I got another one was that my brother claimed my previous one as his own and since he is also a coffee snob, I figured he would benefit from one too. I am glad to see that the new model holds up just as well. The seals on the new ones also are black where the older ones were more of an opaque white and I am not sure if that helps with the function or just to hide the stains if you forgot to clean the lid for a bit but I like the change!

If you like French press coffee, this makes a pretty good tall mug. I was skeptical but with a little practice, got the hang of how to fill and press, and how to get the lid on securely. You put the coffee in and top with water (don't overfill!), then let it brew 4-5 minutes before inserting the press and gently pushing down as far as it will go. The lid is a bit complicated looking but just remember the shiny cap goes on top and there's a removable gasket in the top part. The lid assembly has a drinking spout, so you can drink straight from the thermos with the press still in. No grounds, and has the intense flavor you'd expect from a French press. The whole thing is really sturdy. If you have any lumberjacks in the family who are also coffee snobs, this is the mug for them!
5 month update: Still works. I use it pretty much daily now, and would buy another if this one broke. I'm a little concerned about the gasket in the lid. It's hard to get it out to clean, so I bet that'll be the first thing to go because I have to pry it out with a butter knife. All in all a great product.

I love my coffee but I also travel. This mug makes it possible to take good coffee on long trips. It never leaks. It is hard to clean because it is a french press but that is how it's going to be. I marked it down, however, because I still get a hint of plastic taste in my coffee.

I'm am FA, I hate hotel coffee and airplane coffee. The thought of some people using the hotel coffee machines to wash pantie hoes etc and cook food freaks me out too much. I fill this up with water from a bottle or fountain. And heat the water with my lil imersion heater wand. Throw my grounds in close it up and give it time to do some magic. Put the french press part and put in my fixens. BOOM 💥 coffee. That does not taste bad. I love how durable it is. And yes I have already dropped it a few times. And it fits in my bag easy. Or on the outside with a D clip. It's super easy to clean. Also! Ice coffee works well with this as well. It save you so much money. A black coffee from Starbucks that's a grande is 3$ (it's about 16oz) and you have to wait in a stupid line forever! If you use this 10 times not only did it pay for its self, you got to make your coffee and not had to wait for the one brista serving 100 people. All in all best purchase. 100% recommend.

Ok it does make good pressed coffee.. complaints: it handles sloppily. Granted you are NOT going to lose a lid, but you pay for that in very slow to maneuver inter connecting pivots. Which sometimes you have to reverse to get a part out of the way of getting it together properly. It also seems inordinately heavy so NOT a hiking camper type. It is solidly made and smooth exterior looks good.

I'm loving this french press on the go. I've been looking for a system like this for years. I don't know how long they have been on the market, but this is exactly what I was looking for. It is built like the classic hammered coffee thermos of the past; looks like it will hold up to the years.
I like that is leak proof, it has nice rubber gaskets and seals well. It definitely holds my coffee hot enough to drink till the last drop. That being said, it is only 16 oz. which is one my only complaints, so it doesn't take me long to finish. I imagine it will hold the hot liquids hot for many hours, I have not yet tested that, but it works for my daily work coffee needs. I will be taking this with me camping as well, it will take the place of a few other of my apparatus. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in having a well built, portable french press that wont break the first time you drop it.

The internal pieces pull apart when you try to pull the press out of the mug. They fit so tightly that you have to really muscle the press out of the mug, If it was filled with hot coffee, you would likely spill the contents, possibly burning yourself with hot liquids while attempting to do so. I have so many Stanley products I love, but this one is an absolute failure.

Huge and keeps the drinks warm

Overall not too bad. Used it for loose leaf tea. Kept the tea warm for 4 hours, and no loose leaves floating about. The attached lid is a huge plus as well, at least for me.
Downside is the mug is quite large. Doesn’t fit well in the cup holder.
Still, am happy with it.

Love this mug.

Ordered this travel french press for work. Build quality is great, does not feel cheap. No grains are found in the coffee. Coffee stays hot for a long time. Ensure not to have water to a rolling boil as it will take awhile for coffee to cool down. Its leakproof as well. Does not fit in non adjustable cup holders in cars but I couldnt care less. Would recommend to anyone. Only had it for a week so we will see how the longevity of the mug is.

French press option is great but eventually you get tired of it and just use it as a thermos without the removable filter. Great product. Very solid.
