Also the spray is not a fan shape but a circle. This is not as good as a fan application in my opinion. I should have returned it
but I was desperate and kept it.
Update: January 2017 - The sprayer still works well, but it is showing signs of heavy use and even though it won't last forever, it's still doing the job. The main issue is that the enamel at the top edge of the the tank, where the threaded pump collar seals, has chipped off and doesn't seal as well, letting some of the pressure leak unless you crank it down hard. When this one goes, I'll buy another just like it if they are still making this model. The hose and valve still work perfectly.
My previous sprayer was a Hudson, and it worked pretty well until it rusted a hole through the tank at the seam. This Stanley (made by Chapin, but the Stanley version was cheaper) works better however, keeping its pressure longer and it's easier to open and close, using a threaded pump collar. The hose is thicker & chemical-resistant and the spray tube & nozzle are brass. The Hudson valve was brass and the Stanley is plastic, but then the Hudson valve leaked almost from the beginning, and the Stanley hasn't leaked in the 3 months I've had it. Chapin customer service is great. I lost one of the O-rings the first time I took the spray rod apart to clean it and the nice Chapin CSR sent me a few new ones, no charge, from their offices near Buffalo, NY. Also, the Stanley instructions suggest storing the unit by hanging upside down with the pump removed. Makes sense, it'll probably prevent this one from rusting out like my previous sprayer. Overall, very satisfied with the sprayer. Will update to 5 stars if it still works in a few years.
