The problem I have with this product is not what is in the description, but rather what is left out. Yes, the pull is made of steel. Yes, it is galvanized. Yes, the photo is correct.....The problem is the photo does not show the whole item. You can't see the back at all. They don't tell you that this pull is made from a light piece of stamped sheet metal that is rolled up to make a rounded handle. They don't tell you that the pull is not solid, but rather a hollow tube. Heavy Duty..??? No, not at all.
This pull would work fine for a screen door or a free-swinging gate. It might be okay for a light weight rolling door too. Might even work on a light fence gate...at least for a while. So, while it looks big and strong and it is in fact quite large in size, it is NOT a strong pull. Definitely not useful for heavy applications even though it looks like it is...
My application needs a heavy duty pull. This is not it. I won't say anything bad about it, other than it would be nice if the description would give a little more detail. I was fooled by the photo into believing that this was a heavy duty product. I thought it was a SOLID piece of metal. My mistake...I should have been more careful....
So, three stars for an okay light weight door pull/handle. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that this is a solid metal pull by looking at the picture and reading the description. It is not.....
If I fall, I am unable to get back up by myself -- especially in the garage or basement. One of these Stanley door pulls mounted at a low height allows me to pull myself back up again. They're solid and they're smooth to hold onto. I have already bought six of these; not a single one is on a door.
