This is an excellent product. It is difficult to find quality hand tools that are manually operated. This tool is great and I am unaware of a comparable product offered by another source. There are many economical (i.e., cheap) riveters available from other sources but if you want a quality product this is it. Many of the economical riveters have great difficulty "popping" 1/8" steel rivets. This one does the job. Of course, you have to "grip" it.

I've had a tough time finding a great rivet gun locally (Small community in SE Alaska)... So I ordered a gun labeled with one of my favorite household tool brand names.

I put it to the test... started off immediately with 3/16 stainless pop rivets on a project. It did great... not a lot of leverage though. It performed great until the handle broke. Literally, the handle broke in half in the middle of the rivet... The metal appeared porous and cheap. I hope it's a fluke for the rest of you. But It's going into my drawer full of incompetent rivet guns. Definitely not "Contractor Grade."

I have been working with sheet metal for over 25 years and this riveter has been one of the best purchases I've made. The extended throat on the 1/8" head allows me to install s.s. rivets in 1/4" channel without damaging the side walls. Try that with a normal rivet head. If I had any advice to give, would be to periodically tighten the screws holding the ejector spring in place. They tend to loosen up after continued use.

Stanley MR100CG Contractor Grade Riveter I purchased this rivet gun from Amazon. I had read some of the reviews and one thing that concerned me was that someone said it would not break off the head of the rivet. I have never used a rivet gun before so I didn't know anything about one. Well, it does break off the head everytime. That person must not know how to use one either and he didn't get lucky like me and find out just by chance. If the rivet isn't tight, it won't break off the head, but you get a second bite and when the rivet gets tight, it WILL break off the head. Very good gun. Very well made. Don't be afraid to buy this gun.

I purchased the Stanley MR100CG Contractor Grade Riveter through Amazon. Delivery was great, you have to love prime!

Unfortunately, the riveter broke after I used it on 2 small jobs. I installed no more than 50 rivets and the mechanism that pulls the rivets inside the head of the riveter broke. I use all kinds of tool with my work, and I have never had a tool break after such little use. I would not recommend this tool.

very dissapointed in this Stanley tool. I would not consider this contractor grade.

Bad leverage makes it challenging to break off the softest rivets. Jam caused me to take apart the tool on the first. Threads were damaged to the point that inserts would not thread in again. Job halted. Couldnt even re tap the hole due to metric bs and- the head is made of aliminum!! What? what?! I was a fabricator for 6 years- this is NOT contractor grade material. Avoid.
