What I ordered, and what I received, are two very different looking products. The handle is entirely different and far from ergonomically curved as it shows in the original photo. Indeed, after googling it several different times, I was unable to find a single product picture that matched what I received. As you can imagine, that's a bit disconcerting, especially if I were to use this and it break and be denied repair through the warranted due to the item being a fake. (Let's face it, we've all seen the knock off snap-on and husky tools out there.)
My other concerns are if the item should fail at what it was bought for. My husband works at a ship yard and needs tools that will do what they're supposed to do, and do it well, otherwise it's a waste of finances and time for both himself and the company he works for. I am unsure if we can even send it back, given that it looks absolutely nothing like the packaging, but hopefully we will hear back from the seller soon and go from there.
Please, do be aware that what you order and what you get might not be one in the same and in that case, hopefully you will not be in a similar situation as us.
The jamming (failure to release the stub) is so bad that you end up having to deeply dismantle it after every 1 or 2 rivets.
It's not so much the money wasted, as being stranded with this tool on a weekend project when no alternative is available. Total waste of resources.
Looking for another gun.
The Stanley tool could be improved for heavier duty work by giving it a bit more leverage. That would require a shorter effective stroke and therefore more frequent pulls but that would be fine though a bit bothersome for lighter jobs. Really, there should be two models, with the heavier one being two-handed. The cast body appears sturdy, but I am suspicious of castings as the metal will likely be brittle. This is probably how other reviewers have managed to snap the handles by using stainless 3/16 rivets in violation of the tool's specifications.
The tool fit well in the hands unlike my cheap one which used to trap my fingers. BUT - wear gloves anyway for safely.
I am satisfied with this tool at the price and will perhaps someday buy a compressed air tool for the heaviest jobs.

The old one still works. This one broke the first time I tried to use it.
