For sale is ONE tulip blossom shaped rain chain made of pure solid copper. The chain can replace traditional gutter by guiding rainwater onto the ground. It makes soothing sound when water travels down. The copper construction will make the chain last for decades and develop a beautiful greenish patina with age. The entire chain is 8-ft long and has 16 flowers. Each unit comes with an attachment piece and is very easy to be installed into your existing gutter system. Each flower is 3 1/4" tall, 3 1/4" in top diameter, and 1" in bottom diameter. Length of the chain can be easily adjusted by adding or removing flowers.
Top customer reviews
We drilled a 3/8" hole straight through the gutter from front to back. Then screwed in a galvanized 3/8" x 6" lag bolt through the gutter and into the board behind it. Then wired the top of the rain chain up through the hole where the leader pipe used to be to the lag bolt.
I'm told that in the winter the hole thing freezes up and as it melts it's really beautiful. Another reason for a solid mount: with all that ice in the chain, it's going to get heavy!
options added such as the end gutter unit with plastic hole and the optional catch-all (first)
element at top. Attaches very easily with two drilled holes in the plastic unit at top. The last option,
copper dish plate, used at the bottom is not as useful as designed;
as it doesn't stay upright when attached. I rigged it to remain perpendicular to the rain chain but
customized it with two added 1/4 inch diameter copper rods for balance. A better option is to add
a synthetic resin rain barrel at the bottom to catch and hold rain water. I bought two of these units
from Gardener's Supply (best designs and price) and they work great.
Finally got a big rain here in Houston, and they work great. More splashing than with a regular enclosed downspout, but they work well, and look great. Once the rain dropped down to "normal", no splashing, and they make a wonderful sound when you're looking at them.
The length was plenty, I even had to take the bottom tulip off my 8' overhang.
I only wish the diameter wire 4 inches rather than the 3 inches, but again this is a great quality product, especially for the price.
