The packaging and bottle is good quality. For the price point, you can't beat it. For ease of use, the bottle has a side (1 oz) fill that allows you to easily make a 5 gallon mix within minutes. It's great for larger sanitization items and extremely versatile on how you want to make the mix. I use this on alot for my 1BBL home brew setup. I have never had any infections get into my kegs or lines.

I don't brew but I do make yogurt. This is great for sanitizing fermentation containers before inoculation when using the cold start method or mesophilic strains. I also use it to treat food prep surfaces like counters and cutting boards.

It's got non-food uses too. Since I started cleaning my cats' water bowls they don't get slimy nearly as quickly. I have a mopping robot and it makes cleaning the water tanks in the base a cinch and they don't get stinky.

This is the best sanitizer you can use. It is no rinse, non-toxic (when mixed as directed), and lasts a long time. I usually mix up 5 gallons of this stuff in a food safe bucket and it lasts for about 30 days before I have to make new. It performs outstanding, only requiring about 30 second contact time to do the job. The dispenser is very well designed as well. You just uncap the measurement compartment and squeeze the bottle. It takes the sanitizer from the bottom of the bottle and fills the measurement container. All you have to do is dump it in. This is a very handy addition to the bottle. All in all this is the only sanitizer I will use.

If you're already into home brewing, you know all about Star San. If you're about to get into home brewing, you should learn about Star San.

Home brewing (or winemaking, or distilling) is all about cleanliness. It does not matter how great a recipe you have, if your equipment and supplies are dirty, your brew's taste will be affected negatively. There is an old stat I heard that beermaking requires eight pints of water for every pint of beer - whether that is precisely accurate is beside the point - you'll spend a lot of your time cleaning.

And you can screw things up with cleaning, too. You may not be cleaning enough - some equipment must be sterilized, which is cleaner than clean. Simply rinsing with soap will not sterilize. Also, many cleaners, even those that sterilize, are not appropriate for food because they can leave a nasty aftertaste. Have you ever finished a beer and thought, "What terrific notes of soapy lavender"? Bleach may sterilize, but bleach is not what you want to taste.

Enter Star San - a sterilizer that has food in mind. This concentrate can make literally scores of gallons of sanitizing liquid, more than enough to completely sanitize all your buckets, funnels, bottles, hoses, and other brewing equipment. It also keeps well, so making a spritz bottle of the stuff is easy. It will not harm your skin and you do not need to rinse it from your equipment before using it - traces of Star San solution in your beer bottles or fermentation buckets are not a problem - air drying is fine.

The squeeze bottle allows you to precisely measure how much Star San is needed for a five-gallon bucket.

Highest recommendation.
