Format: Mass Market Paperback
This early book of Iris Johansen is a nice blend of romance and adventure. What it lacks in coherent character development it makes up for in charm. Ten years before the book starts Gabe Falkner saved a 14 year old Ronnie Dalton from an earthquake wrecked hotel without ever knowing her name. Gabe is a journalist who managed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and has spent a year as a hostage to a rebel leader, in part because of Ronnies' father illegal activities. Ronnie has hero-worshipped Gabe from a far from years. She even became a photojournalist because of him and this situation gives her the opportunity to pay him back by rescuing him. It is a decent early effort by a great author and well worth the read if you can find it.

The last thing Gabe Falkner expected was to be rescued by a golden-haired angel, but photojournalist Ronnie Dalton would dare anything to free the man who'd saved her life years before! He'd never let anyone close enough to touch him, but Ronnie was a seductive blend of brash child and world-weary woman--and when he embraced her with reckless abandon, he felt an overwhelming sense of possession. Bound to Him Body and Soul. Stunned by the electrifying heat of Gabe's touch, Ronnie felt at once utterly cherished and dangerously vulnerable. She yearned to belong to the man who'd been her inspiration, her secret fantasy, but she doubted she could ever be, part of his life. Gabe desperately wanted to give Ronnie something she valued as much as he did his freedom, but would destiny let them join their dreams forever....

A great read if you love Johansen. A regular love story with a predictable ending but still a very strong storyline. Recommended!!!
