Author C.A. Nole has done a fantastic job of placing the reader in the center of all the action. From start to finish I was swept away in an astounding manner. Everything from the lavish scenery descriptions, to the vivid character development enthralled my imagination and placed me in the center of all the action. A floating city in space, a hole that you will be tossed into if you don’t do as your told and a romance that is being kindled are just some of the aspects that paint the foundation and backbone for this epic sci-fi tale. As mentioned, the main characters Diana and Vesta are developed with deep POV personalities that will literally place you in the center of the thoughts and minds. What they think, feel, smell, and see will have you walking along side them as the venture forth on their quest for survival. As an author myself, I can say that this level of descriptiveness is not an easy task to accomplish and in essence only be seen by a seasoned master storyteller.
In closing, words that best describe this book for me are: Captivating, Thrilling, Suspenseful, Thought Provoking in a well-written manner that will enthrall the mind and imagination for nights on end. Simply Brilliant on a whole other level that all will certainly enjoy. Highly recommended and 5 Stars!
Author C. A. Nole takes us on a wild ride through love, mystery, science, and the struggle for freedom. Immediately we are intrigued as Janus explains his current situation and the fact that he killed his best friend that day, mix that with a vat of acid and a gunshot hole in his hand and we are off to an exciting beginning. We are then led into what led to his situation and what he is trying to accomplish. The relationship between Diana and Vesta is intense and potentially dangerous. Vesta risks everything to try to take down the Stellae and Diana must decide whether or not to join her. Janus is thrown into the mix as he is developing a way to destroy the Stellae.
Nole guides us expertly through his vision. We are able to clearly see the characters, the situations, and the world in which they live. The suspense mounts and my interest held piqued as I awaited the brilliant finale. I highly recommend it!
From the moment the story began, I was pulled into the dark world of the novel and rooting for the main characters, who were fleshed out in a remarkably efficient way. Like good fiction should be, I had a hard time seeing what made me care so deeply about characters in such far-flung scenarios from my world, but I couldn't help but be pulled in - this artist did an incredible job 'hiding his brush-strokes,' so to speak. You are pulled into the grim reality of the story, like it or not!
If any reader is tired of sci-fi novels stuffed with cliched characters, typical scenery, and action that serves no purpose, then they will find refuge in this work. I can't recommend it enough. I can't wait to read more of C.A. Nole's stuff.
Kudos to you!! Can’t wait for the next one.
This is my first read from C. A. Nole, it is fantastic and I look forward for more.
