Star Trek: Attack Wing is a tactical space combat HeroClix miniatures game, featuring pre-painted ships from the Star Trek Universe.By using the FlightPath maneuver system* (licensed from Fantasy Flight Games), players engage in exploration and combat, traversing sprawling Star Trek space maps made available via an in-store Organized Play program. As commander, players have the ability to customize, upgrade, and assign famous crewmembers to their fleets, which feature ships from the series' prominent empires and forces as well as special stats and abilities, and unique maneuvers on separate HeroClix Combat Dials.Star Trek: Attack Wing is a standalone game which uses the core rule set of FFGs' FlightPath game system with a Star Trek twist, but is not compatible with other FlightPath games from FFG.The FlightPath maneuver system used in Star Trek: Attack Wing is based on the original Game Design by Jason Little.

Top customer reviews
I found this game and became immediately interested b/c 1) I love Star Trek and 2) it looks similar to The Pirates Constructible Strategy Game which I played in the past and had a blast.
The miniatures- are just good enough, but they still manage to excite. The guys who take miniatures seriously seem to hate them b/c 1) the paint jobs are uninspired and 2) the producers ignored scale (excluding the Borg cube and Deep Space 9 which will make your heart stop the first time you see them). Both of those complaints are valid.
The game parts- there are a lot of them. Do the right thing: get a fishing tackle box and protective card sleeves.
The rules- The best way to learn the game for me was by watching youtube videos, there are some great instructionals out there made by guys who have real love for this game. Once you get the ships put on their stands and you fill them with crew and bonus cards, everything just falls into place. The turn system is interesting and exciting. And I love how every ship expansion you buy adds scenarios and depth to the game, but you don't even have to buy a single expansion because you can do a lot with what they give you in the intro box.
I want to throw in a recommendation here - You should buy 2 of these starter sets. First of all, you get 3 ships for $30 which is a deal, and even though their paint jobs are not great you can use them as generic ships of their class which expands game play. Getting another set also gives you twice as many dice, and you need more dice with this game (the only place I have ever seen additional dice sold separate is ebay and the price was ridiculous). Plus you get more maneuver templates which means you don't have to share with your opponent, plus you get more obstacles (I love having a second planet). When you think about it, the second $30 is a steal.
My disclaimer- I haven't even played it yet! I have 3 guys joining me this weekend as I've learned the game in advance, and I expect to have a great time... if we don't I'll update this! I got so excited after receiving the starter box (which feels weirdly good and high quality in your hands fyi) I dropped a couple hundred buying every expansion on Amazon that interested me, and a space themed playing mat.
5 stars because although the quality of the parts varies a bit for what you're paying, this game gets you really excited. It's for 2 players and up, but I hear there are AI rules you can use to play by yourself. You have to research that yourself though for now, sorry.
Speaking of the starter set, it's a solid buy for folks getting into the game. The 3 ships give you a foothold into 3 of the main factions, and they're all good ships, not crap you'll find yourself never playing with. There are lots of templates, tokens, and other fiddly bits, so I recommend getting a good storage case/system to hold them all. I've bought 2 sets just to have more dice and extra ships, so don't be surprised if you find yourself circling back around to get more once the addiction sets in. Qapla'!
