This is the worst Star Trek series ever!!! The show is not Star Trek. It had moments in past seasons with Michelle Yoeh that seem like the series was moving in the right direction but so much focus was on building romantic relationships between members of the crew. If I wanted to watch some soap opera, I would have done that. And the storyline is so ridiculous. They jump into the future and most of Starfleet was destroyed by the "Burn". How depressing was that? Star Trek was always about a positive future with Star Fleet and the United Federation of Planets. Besides, I thought the "Burn" was referring to Bernie Sanders.

This last season really hit bottom. First , three main bridge crew members were replaced. Supposedly, Detmer and Owosekun were flying the old "Enterprise" to some storage facility. I guess the actors were fired or quit over some pay dispute. Second, a new "Number One" named Rayner replaced Saru who was building a romantic relationship with some Vulcan. Has anyone noticed that Rayner looks like Daniel Craig (James Bond) with pointed ears?? Third, even the crimminal elements, Moll and L'ak in this last season get into a romantic relationship story. And I cannot help noticing that Moll looks like a singer from the 80's named "Blondie."

I watched the all the episodes of Season 5 hoping that the series would correct itself and make it worthy of Star Trek but it never did. The complete storyline of chasing after some device that created life was very confusing and boring. The last scenes of the series was about the romantic relationship between Burham and Booker.

You can tell they were gearing for season 6 either a couple of the storylines before the show got canceled. Discovery isn't my favorite but I have steelbooks for the prior 4 seasons + Picard and Strange New Worlds
