My husband got this for me for xmas, and I could not stop laughing when I opened it. Pairs nicely with my Captain James T. Kirk apron. This mitt is awesome, though a bit awkward to use...but totally worth it. The detailing throughout was well thought out (especially on the cuff) and the fact that the mitt comes nearly to my elbow truly comes in handy at times. I haven't washed it yet, but so far it seems very well sewn/made.

This oven mitt is definitely a novelty item, hung on the wall to show off my pride for Star Trek. However, it's not insulated well enough to use regularly, and the separate fingers make it awkward to use. I keep this on display as a conversation piece but use a real potholder so I can continue to do the Vulcan salute without the assistance of a mitt.

Use as decoration not oven mitt

This is not a true oven mitt unless you have hands the size of Sasquatch. This item is HUGE and is meant for decoration. When I put it on my own hand the oven mitt went to my elbow and my whole hand fit into the index and middle finger section. It's so big you can't really use it to pick up hot items from the oven because it's too bulky.

It is not an oven mitt. Looks cute, but it is 17 inches high and 8 inches across the knuckle. Maybe the manufacturer confused "oven mitt" with a soccer goalie's mitt? (But only for a really big goalie like Germany's Neuer!)
