The developers at EA have created something beautiful, and what EA has decided to do with it is just plain Wrong. Coming from someone who readily purchased the first game's deluxe edition and season pass at full price, I'm baffled by EA's ludicrous loot case system and the amount of play time required to gain anything from it. Anyone who is willing to pay enough to max out everything in the game either has a bottomless pit of cash that they're pulling from, or might actually have a gambling addiction. I saw an estimate online saying it would cost over 2 thousand dollars to max everything out, and based on what I've seen so far, I don't doubt it. And you may say "I would pay less than that", but to that I say "good luck". Seriously though, thanks to the loot crate system, you could easily pay large amounts of real cash and not even get the items you wanted out of it. EA needs to fix this system.
To be fair, I appreciate that a game like this took a lot of time and resources to create. I realize that the base asking price for this game is generous considering it has been the same base price for games since the Xbox 360 and PS3 were launched. It was also great of EA to include future maps for free to everyone. I payed for the maps in the first battlefront DLC and never played them because they were divided into the different groups. Playing the same map on loop gets old after round 3. That being said, the current system in Battlefront 2 and the cost to progress in it (whether it's real world cash or play time) is insanity and it's enough to ruin a great game.
UPDATE 2/4/18 :This game is a compete joke. EA has ruined Star Wars Battlefront. The loot crate and card system is still terrible. The battle point system is also terrible. The only people that get to be heros are the people who are ridiculously good. After they're done killing me ten times as a trooper, they're rewarded with a hero character so they are able to kill me a hundred more times. Everything about this game is a disappointment. On top of the progression system being terrible, it's also broken, so I'm unable to even claim the weapons and rewards I actually earned. The visuals in this game do not even come close to making up for the disaster it is in every other way.
