The helmet is a little uncomfortable to wear, the foam pads are thin and don't really cushion the helmet very well. The voice changer aspect doesn't do quite as well as I had hoped it would. You have to speak in almost a whisper in order for your real voice to not be heard over the helmet sound. It's really difficult to understand what is being said via the mask. I think the voice changer could use some work.
The helmet is cute and satisfied our son, it's fun for a little entertainment but not quite what we had hoped.
So, naturally, whenever I saw an item called "Star Wars Darth Vader Voice Changer Helmet," I assumed this was the same toy that I had once owned. Little did I know, the word helmet has, in recent years, been redefined to mean mask, since that's all this is: a mask that only covers one's face. Not that I really have a problem with it being a mask, but its title identifies it as a helmet, making me think that it was ... ya know ... a full helmet. I was very disappointed to discover that it wasn't. On top of that, the sound quality of the voice changer isn't as good as the one I used to have. However, one thing that I do like about it, is that the voice now comes from the mask itself, instead of a box hanging down near my chest. Still though, when compared to what I know this toy could be, since I once had a much better one, I can't help but say that this one is just average. But good for kids. Just not for anyone expecting a full helmet to hide the straps on the back of their head.
