About the author

New York Times bestselling author John Jackson Miller has spent a lifetime immersed in the worlds of fantasy and science fiction. He's best known for his Star Wars and Star Trek work, including Star Wars: Kenobi, his Scribe Award winning novel from Del Rey; Star Wars: A New Dawn; the Star Trek: Prey trilogy, and Star Trek: Discovery - The Enterprise War.
He's also written comics included the long-running Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comics series, as well as comics for Battlestar Galactica, Halo, Lion King, Mass Effect, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, and The Simpsons. Auch wenn diese Reihe mittlerweile nicht mehr Teil des Kanons ist, hat sich Marvel glücklicherwiese dazu entschieden diese Comicserie als Teil der Legends neu aufzulegen. Bis auf Leuten, die unbedingt Wert darauf legen die Originale von Dark Horse zu besitzen, würde ich jedem dazu raten diese Version zu kaufen, da selbst gebrauchte Bücher dieser Serie von Dark Horse mittlerweile mindestens 70€ kosten.
Zur Story:
Die Story spielt zur Zeit des Mandalorischen Krieges, also noch bevor dem ersten KOTOR. Der Padawan Zayne Carrick muss mitansehen wie seine Freunde von ihren Meistern umgebracht werden und ihm die Morde anhängen. Fortan befindet er sich auf einer verzweifelten Verfolgungsjagd quer durch die Galaxie und versucht einerseits seine Unschuld zu beweisen und andrerseits zu verstehen, warum seine Freunde ermordet wurde.
Eine kleine "Warnung" an dieser Stelle:
Auch wenn Zayne und seine Gefährten auch ab und zu mal unfreiwillig in den Mandalorischen Kriegen eingreifen, sind der Großteil der Abenteuer für die Galaxie nocht relevant. Wer also einen Protagonist bevorzugt, der wie Revan oder Luke Skywalker das Schicksal der Galaxis mitentscheidet, wird mit dieser Reihe also nicht unbedingt glücklich.
