I had originally wanted to get the 'Collectors Edition' seeing that it was a one-piece model but upon further inspection and reviews found out it's just hard rubber and customers were very disappointed with how badly it would warped and the T-visor only had small cutouts instead of it being a complete open T-visor.
I searched on Youtube for reviews as well and came across J.J. Medrano's review [...] of the Two-piece model and instantly knew this is the one I wanted!
It arrived today and I'm super excited with how it looks! Some people have commented on how it's a bit flimsy, but to be honest, it's made of durable plastic and definitely not going to crack like other cheap helmet's I've had in the past. the black T-visor is all a semi-tinted plastic so you have a huge view range. I plan on adding a darker piece of tinting over it to make my identity more concealed from the outside.
it did take me a couple mintues to assemble, but once I got both pieces lined up, it went together quite easily. It's actually quite spaceous on the inside, so I'll be adding some more padding to it as well, to keep it from spinning around on my head.
J.J. also mentioned he was a part of the 'Mandalorian Mercs' which specialize in Jango/Boba helmets and costumes, so I checked out their site and it gives a ton of info and tutorials on how to make this certain model a better helmet [...], but for now I like mine how it is!
Hope this review helps you a bit on your decision to purchase this helmet! if you have questions or comments feel free to let me know! I took a lot of photos of mine from various angles to give you a better idea of what it looks like, as the stock photo Amazon uses shows the 1-peice, but it's actually the 2-piece.
Sizing: It's a fairly big size, able to fit his head and still allowing him to wear his glasses inside the helmet. It would turn slightly with the extra room, so he's planning on adding extra padding to help it fit better.
Material: The helmet is made of a very thin plastic. If you sit on it, step on it, or even hold it too tight, it can bend. It's like a dollar store decoration brand plastic or a 2 liter pop bottle. That's how thin it is, so use with care.
Assembly: We *both* had trouble putting this thing together in less than 15 minutes. It's not hard to figure out how it's put together, but trying to get everything lined up and not bent is where it gets tricky. Again, thin plastic. Use with care.
Overall: He liked it and is planning on fixing it up to his liking for his costume, so it will be put to good use. Plus, it looks really nice and is a good starter play helmet. If you're looking for something top quality, this is not the helmet you'll probably want, but if you're looking for something for play or for beginners cosplay, it's a good start.
assembly was a bit of a pain. And after 1 drip from shoulder (5' )height the visor broke a hole.
And others saying it's like sunglasses have bad sunglasses it was like looking through a window.
It also didn't come with a pad, like others show, or the instructions say.
However I did make one, and was able to put in a new visor as well.
I do love it, but wish it felt a bit more sturdy.
Great for the price.
