Discover the Power of the Force

The Uncle Milton Star Wars Science The Force Glove allows you to harness the power of the force like Anakin Skywalker. This stylish black glove with silver trim features durable rubber padding on its palm with a circular metal disc sewn in. The included puck-shaped magnet features engravings on both sides, indicating which side is for FORCE PUSH and FORCE PULL. Simply attach the magnet to your Force Glove and control the power of the force with your own hand.

Flip over the magnet to choose the Force Push or Force Pull! View larger.

Push and Pull Force Targets

Included with the Force Glove is a magnetic base with attachable Force target cut-outs of battle droids and a lightsaber. Use the palm of your glove to push the trade federation droids away, then flip the magnet around and pull the lightsaber into your hand. Our testing team found that the included magnet is not particularly strong, and is much more adept at pulling objects in than it is pushing them away. Still, the glove is strikingly designed and durably constructed. Also, running around the house drawing in metallic objects without grabbing them is an inherently fun activity that will keep Star Wars fans entertained for hours.

Should have listened to other reviewers... The glove is tiny and the magnet is so weak you have to be 2 inches from the stand thing to get it to work. You would think that if your whole toy depends on a magnet attracting or repelling something then the magnet would be strong enough to do it...

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I've seen some great Star Wars toys over the past 35 years (yes, I go way back to my 1978 lightsaber), but this glove is somewhat disappointing. The magnets are not very powerful and only work when a metal item is less than a couple of inches from the glove. The two force objects (a light saber and Battle Droids) are cheap paper cutouts and not durable (they are already destroyed in my house after two days of light usage). The glove looks OK, but is very thin and there is no strap to tighten or loosen it if your child's hands don't fit the glove exactly. Even worse, although there are two paper "force" objects, there is only one magnetic base for both of them (the manufacturer does not provide two, so kids have to keep switching the non durable paper cutouts and keep re-attaching them to the same base). Overall, this Star Wars offering is not very durable and not made with much quality.

This is not as "cool" as I though it would be. The glove fits an older child's hand. It does not fit an adult hand, not even a woman's hand. The "force" behind this toy is a magnet. There is a piece of metal that is sewn into the glove. The plastic coated magnet (about the size of a quarter or so) sticks to the outside of the glove on the piece of metal. One size has a positive charge and the other a negative charge. The "droids" that you use the force on is a little cardboard stand up that you attach to a metal base (about the size of a quarter or so). The set also comes with a nice "sciency" poster on magnets.

The reason I am rating this a three is a couple reasons:
(1) You have to have the magnet VERY close to even move the droids at all, I'm talking an inch away from them.
(2) When you get that close the droids don't slide on the table like the picture shows. They jump up and attach to the glove. This made the toy fun for all of five minutes before my son realized it was nothing like the movies.
(3) I have to supervise this toy closely. The magnet that you flip from positive to negative is not attached to the glove in any way, so if the magnet is taken away from the sewn in metal, it can get lost or eaten by the family dog. It would have been nice to have it attached so it doesn't get separated from the glove.

Overall, it's a cute toy and concept, but it doesn't work all that well. It's great for teaching a star wars fan about magnets.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I picked up the Star Wars Science Force Glove from the Amazon Vine Program for two reasons: 1) I have a young son who loves Star Wars to death and also loves science. 2) I'm a huge Star Wars geeks and was attracted to the fact that the glove looks just like Anakin's from the films.

With my reasoning out of the way, let's get down to the nuts and bolts of this product. Looking at the glove in its packaging, it's not that impressive at all. In fact, you almost think you're getting ripped off by picking it up off of a store shelf. However, the lean packaging holds quite a bit. You get the glove, two cardboard cutouts (a battle droid and a lightsaber), a magnetic base with which you can attach the cutouts, and another magnet that features the Imperial logo and the Rebellion logo on either side that fits on the glove. A learning guide is also included.

Simply flip the magnet to whichever side you want and attempt to "Force" push or "Force" pull the object. It's very simple and, to be quite honest, can be a tad bit boring rather quickly, but it provides parents an opportunity to take something most youngsters (and adults) love, Star Wars, and combines it with educating children about science (specifically, magnets). Educational toys often get a bad rap for being boring and in this case, it is a bit true, but after the science lesson is over, your child will have an Anakin glove to play with and is ultimately why most kids want this toy.

There are other Star Wars Science toys out there that are a lot more fun such as the Dark Side Detector Mini Lightsaber and the Boba Fett Launch Lab, but for what it is, the "Force" Glove is a pretty cool toy.

Mildly recommended.

This product really disappointed my son. The videos in the description are not at all accurate to the actual product. In fact, I replicated the results by replacing the magnets that were installed with Neodynium magnets. And for the price I paid I could have made 6 sets for the price of this one

Really cheaply made item; the glove was hard for my nephew to get on. The "targets" are cardboard that you must attach to a plastic disk with a magnet in the middle. I was actually embarrassed at the cheap quality, little pieces of plastic, confusing, complex directions for such a simple idea, etc. for this gift. My nephew kept trying to get it to work, and occasionally he would get a "target" to move, but wow---complicated, cheaply made, etc. I really don't recommend this item.
