I have mixed feelings about the art style used in this book. The semi-realistic, photo-like panels sometimes work really well, but also sometimes fall flat and seem out of place. I really liked the design of the steeds they use on Jedha. They reminded me of The Dark Crystal.
Overall, this was a self-contained story with Rogue One seasonings that was just not that interesting to me. I give this book a 3/5. I'm hoping for more from this continuing series.
This volume is fantastic. The artwork by Salvador Larroca is excellent - from the vehicles to the landscape to the characters faces and costumes. It has the feel of the better movies. The plot and dialogue are first rate. We return to Jedha shortly after the rebels have blown up the Death Star. We see the fall out from the destruction at the end of the "Rogue One" movie. This has some of my favorite Han Solo line's from comics and a number of excellent supporting characters, including two superb ones (the leader of the Partisans and the commander of the Imperial Forces).
Mr. Gillen had mailed it in on some recent Star Wars comics. This is one he can be truly proud of. Well done.
