Great quality but I couldn't use it for what I purchased this for any one trying to use this for Xbox 360 this could be an option but you would also need a y splitter cable & another cable plugging in from your color coded components in the back of the TV I used a cable that came with my old turtle beaches in my opinion your better off buying this with an Astro mix amp if your choose is Xbox 360 gaming. I did receive a little audio distortion from when I plugged in my mic into the controller & 3.5 female is a tight fit but the 2.5 male side is a little small I found it easy to slide it out of my controller

I'm writing this review after several years of use. I use it at work to route my headphone cable around the back of my desk along with a StarTech cable and both have been fantastic. Until I tried using a particular pair of earbud headphones. I normally use big clunky headphones at work, but this particular pair has a mic, so it has a four conductor plug. Long story short - if you have two black rings on your headphone plug, this will work great. If you have three, you may need to fiddle with the connection to get it to work well. If you need the mic to go through, look for a four conductor or TRRS coupler instead.

This. This is the one to get. Don't get any other 3.5 mm couplers. This is the one. I tried two other couplers before this one and the problem I kept having was that they were loose and any cables I plugged into them would wiggle and lose connection. But this... this one is nice and tight around any 3.5 mm jack, with a nice firm click so you know it's inserted all the way. Don't look at any other couplers, even if this is slightly more expensive, they are all crap. This is the one to get.

Very snug fit- no rattle unlike other RadioShack F/F 3.5mm jacks that I've tried in the past. Rotating the headphone jack inside the female port also causes no interference/static.

I used this with a 20 foot Male to Male 3.5mm cable to hook up my headphones to my TV's headphone jack so I can watch it without speakers.
So far, I've used it in bed for several months and I haven't had a single issue.

I bought it, tested it, then found that I really don't need it since I found the cable that this I needed in the first place. I can say it worked wonderfully in the limited test I did just to make sure it did work. I didn't get to do an exhaustive torture test, and I highly doubt I ever will, but for the couple days that I needed this adapter for, it was awesome.

I bought a microphone to use as a boom microphone to capture all the audio from the room in addition to some other microphones to use with a camcorder. Little did I know it was for a DSLR camera and it only had a 1.5 foot long cord, I used a 12 foot long 3.5 to 3.5mm cord and used this to connect the two and it works great!

For a ridiculously inexpensive item I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I needed a connector to link together two stereo cables (4m + 1m) from TV jack to headphones. I had earlier purchased a steel coupler that proved unsatisfactory. The connections were loose and the sound quality diminished. This coupler, with gold plated connections to match those of the cables, has a perfect connection, resulting in a satisfying 'click' when the jacks are pushed home. More importantly the sound quality is as good as the original single cable.
