This is really a life saver. I have a pretty big set up in my home office – computer, two monitors, two external hard drives, speakers, printer, etc. I finally ran out of USB ports on my computer. This Hub worked right out of the box. No drivers. Truly plug and play. I plugged it in to a USB port on my computer (Windows 10), waited about 5 seconds and all the devices were working. I suggest using the optional power adapter if you can to prevent overloading the USB port power on your computer. I have two external hard drives and my printer plugged in to the Hub and it works just fine using the power adapter. I highly recommend.
HELPFUL HINT. Some reviewers report one or more of the USB hub ports stop working. First, make sure your computer is awake and you are logged in before you plug in the Hub. If the USB hub doesn’t work after your computer wakes from sleep mode, Windows likely automatically turned off the USB Root hub to save power. To prevent this:
Go to Control Panel. Click Hardware and Sound, then click Power Options. Click Change plan settings for the plan you want to change. Click Change advanced power settings. Click the plus sign (+) next to “USB settings” and “USB selective suspend setting” to expand the options and change the setting to Disabled. Click OK to apply the setting.
